Get Inspired by the Mineral Elements in This Beckham Creek Cave Wedding Inspiration

October 1, 2017 | Junebug Weddings

This dark and romantic styled shoot by LAYERS Photography and a talented team of professionals drew from the wilderness surrounding Beckham Creek Cave, a living cavern deep within the Ozark Mountains. Inspired by the classic myth of Adonis and Aphrodite, a goddess who falls hopelessly in love with a mortal, this shoot was full of rich and moody natural textures and colors. From the rough and rugged limestone bluffs to sparkling crystals, geodes and quartz found in the bride’s modern tiara and truly marvelous wedding cake by Art is in Cakes. We just love the wintery editorial drama of this stylish adventure. White roses and blue wildflowers by Tanarah Luxe Florals, and the bride’s gorgeous Korto Momolu gown featuring white fur and feathers completes this passionate and ethereal styled shoot.

This Sentimental Oklahoma Wedding at Home Has the Perfect Fall Color Palette

October 1, 2017 | Junebug Weddings

After meeting in fifth grade, Caitlyn and Austin wanted their Oklahoma wedding to be full of sentimental details, centered around family and the long history they share. The natural first step was choosing the groom’s family home as their venue for an intimate and laid-back ceremony. The bride wore her grandmother’s jewelry that inspired her custom-made engagement ring and the groom built the ceremony arch with wood found on the land, completed with a macramé backdrop by Ivy Wool. From the invitations by Unica Forma to the floral design by Cactus Hill Flower Company, a crisp and moody autumnal color palette completed the ethereal but relaxed vibe. Photographer Abby Roses captured the couple’s first look in a quiet moment before the ceremony and a stunning sunset as this romantic day wound down.

The Couple:

Caitlyn and Austin

The Wedding:

Private Residence, Oklahoma

The single most important thing to us on our wedding day (other than ending up married of course!) was to be surrounded by our families and friends. We wanted our day to feel intimate and ethereal, yet relaxed and chill, to celebrate not only us, but everyone who helped get us to that moment!

We were both nervous to be in front of a crowd, so we knew that seeing each other would be calming and let us truly immerse ourselves in the day and enjoy it. It was the most intimate moment of shaking, laughing and talking about what had happened already that day. It was fun to get lost in that moment!

Our day was so family centered! We honestly could not have done it without all their help. My aunt, uncle and cousins offered to cook and serve all our food. Austin‘s uncle officiated our ceremony and I wore jewelry that my grandmother had given me just a few months before she passed away (including the center stone Austin designed my engagement ring around!). Austin handmade the arch we were married under. He found the wood on their land, cut it and fabricated it to place our macrame hanger and flowers on. It was perfectly us!

If you ask Austin what the most special part of the day was he would say being married at home on the land he grew up on. His one request was to be married there so it was so special that we were able to turn that in to reality. It allowed us to each get ready with our best friends in our own homes, and we will be able to go back to that spot forever knowing it was where we were married.

Unique Fall Elopement Inspiration in a German Quarry

September 30, 2017 | Junebug Weddings

This fall elopement styled shoot from Julia and Gil Photography and team of leading German industry professionals in an abandoned quarry in Germany balances the intense energy of the autumn air with finely chosen details. Rustic florals by Grace and Flowers inspired by the surrounding wilderness featured autumnal accents like feathers, dried grasses and wildflowers in shades of purple and sage. From the bride’s stunningly beautiful two-piece gown by I Am Yours, featuring a delicate, sheer lace crop top to the groom’s tweed trousers dove-grey bowler hat, this fashionable couple managed to stay the center of attention, despite the magical and unexpectedly modern ceremony set up, a contemporary take on the bohemian teepee. We love the rustic-chic picnic that brings lavish details to the wilderness: the table made from a wooden palette and dressed up with gold cutlery, crystal wine glasses and geode place settings.
