Stephanie and Kaitlin decided on a Gastown wedding to pay tribute to the neighborhood where they rented their first apartment together. As if that weren’t sweet enough, the pair made sure every detail of their celebration reflected their relationship. The brides wore glamorous custom gowns designed by Nicole Guzzo, who ensured that the dresses complemented each other while also showcasing both bride’s individual personal style. From a Broadway-themed seating chart to the first dance (in matching Keds!) to an acoustic version of the brides’ favorite song, the 50 guests enjoyed a celebration that was quintessentially Kaitlin and Stephanie.

We absolutely love that we had our wedding dresses custom made. We worked with a local Vancouver designer, who created beautiful one-of-a-kind gowns for both of us. Being two brides, it was important to us that we had dresses that complemented one another, and also suited us both. We worked with our designer, Nicole Guzzo to pick out the perfect fabric for our style ideas, and she did an amazing job making our dress dreams come true! We accessorized with matching heels from Betsey Johnson‘s ‘Something Blue’ wedding line, then switched to glitter Keds designed by Taylor Swift to dance the night away. Our bridesladies wore mid length gowns by a Toronto company, Henkaa. They are convertible dresses that can be worn many different ways, so everyone got to choose their own style and even switch it up through the night! Our bridesmen wore Brooks Brothers dress shirts, and bow ties by Amanda Jo Handmade. The perfect finishing touch for us and our bridal party, was our hair and makeup team, Faye Smith Makeup & Hair. We couldn’t have been happier with how it all came together.

Our first apartment together was in the iconic Woodwards building in the Gastown neighbourhood of Vancouver. It’s always been our favourite area, and it was the first spot that we started looking at wedding venues. The Diamond is a trendy cocktail bar that overlooks the main square in Gastown. It suited our vision perfectly for an intimate ceremony and reception, and we couldn’t imagine having our wedding anywhere else! The space has a vintage feel, with brick walls and wooden tables, and it was the perfect size to accommodate our small gathering of 50 people. Famous for their cocktail menu, The Diamond offered unique drinks as well as custom catering for our event. They worked with us to create the perfect evening we envisioned.

The most memorable part of our day was obviously saying “I do!” But more than that, it was really amazing and humbling to look around the room and see all of the people that were there to share in our celebration. Most of our family and friends are scattered all over the world, and we were so grateful to have people travel from so far to be there for us. It was also the first time most of our family had met one another, so to see how well everyone connected and got along, was very special.
