Elegantly Ethereal Maine Wedding at Chebeague Island Inn

May 26, 2020 | brooke

If simple elegance and Maine wedding vibes are you thing, you’re sure to fall for Elizabeth and Ed’s ethereal day at Chebeague Island Inn! The couple tied the knot in a waterfront ceremony surrounded by their closest loved ones and continued their party with a stunning, tented outdoor reception that featured sweet florals by Lani Toscano Design, charcuterie boards, and so much more. We’re quite obsessed with Elizabeth’s bridal look, as she looked timeless dressed in Amy Kuschel via Flair, Jimmy Choo shoes, and the most perfect Amsale veil. Get ready to swoon over the perfect photographs Lindsay Hackney Photography captured of this couple’s magical day!

The Couple:

Elizabeth & Ed

The Wedding:

Chebeague Island Inn, Chebeague Island, Maine

We were among the last of our friends to get married, and while the wait was well worth it (because it brought us to each other), everyone was itching for an epic celebration. The most important thing for us was to host our loved ones in a place that we’ve grown to cherish together, the Maine coast, and plan a wedding that simply let Maine show off.

From the clear-topped tent that brought the island scenery and sunset sky “inside”, to the caterers who turned amazing coastal ingredients into an ultra elegant Maine feast, to the no-kids-invited rule so that our new-parent friends and cousins could really kick back and relax, there were a few things that were musts during the planning process — and the rest was designed to be as simple and classic as possible, with the help of a wonderful team of planners and vendors.

We were blessed with perfect late summer New England weather; a DJ who miraculously kept the dance floor packed with all ages until it was time to go home; and all in all, a wedding that reflected the ease, fun, family, and love of the outdoors and incredible food that characterizes how we spend our time together as a couple husband and wife.
