Coral Wedding Color Palettes

February 22, 2008 | editorial team

Yesterday I got a fun note from Jennifer in San Francisco who is love with her bold coral color palette for her upcoming August wedding. She’s using rich coral colors in her save-the-dates, invitations, menus and thank you notes, all designed by the fabulous designer Cat Seto, and wanted some inspiration for other wedding details to go along with her coral wedding colors. Here you go Jennifer!

I love the organic way that coral, cream and pink go hand in hand. Throw in a little gold and you’ve got a seriously elegant wedding color scheme!

Middle row:
Dove silk strapless dress with bead embroidered bodice by Marchesa, available at Net-a-Porter.com
Cream narcissus and white clematis bouquet from MarthaStewart.com
Nerine and hypericum berry boutonnière and miniature cymbidium orchid and jasmine vine boutonnière from MarthaStewart.com

Bottom row:

A coral color palette can also be big and bold when you include colors like bright orange and yellow, and add small pops of contrasting color for excitement and depth. Try splashes of lime green or ocean blue in your table settings, favors or jewelry.

  1. ii am IN LOVE with the coral bouquet– thank you for the inspiration!!

  2. What a beautiful color palette! The invitations are inspiring, and I LOVE that poppy bouquet from Jo Gartin!! I had the pleasure of working with Jo in Los Angeles this last December (she is an event planner and designer in L.A.) on a celebrity fund raiser – she is truly talented. I had a blast helping to create a celebrity event, especially sine we don’t have too many A list celebrities here in Seattle! I found her style to be simple, clean and elegant – and absolutely beautiful. I agree with Christy about adding in a color splash – a little splash of pear green would just make it pop even more!

  3. cat seto is doing my invitations too!

  4. I love both of these – so pretty!

  5. you’ve convinced me that coral is a good thing! Beautiful image selection! Thanks for opening my eyes to a new fun favorite.

  6. I have always been a big fan of old victorian jewelry that combined a very pale coral with pearls and turquoise (think tiny spheres of robins egg blue, NOT southwest chunky ). I think this could translate in to an amazing wedding pallette, too. Thanks for the inspiration!

  7. oh, and also, *dying* over that Marchesa dress.

  8. Many of my wedding clients first think of their wedding as a black tie affair but have found that matching the tie & pocket silk of the gentlemen to the bridesmaid dresses a great way to coordintate with a splash of color. Either all of the guys can have the matching tie or just the groom or groomsmen to make the groom a bit different from the rest. Also a high quality tie can make for a nice gift to the groomsmen from the wedding couple. My Best, Jeff Collins Professional Haberdasher http://www.MyHaberdasher.com

  9. I am getting married in April of 09 and I am having a hudge problem picking my wedding color’s. I first came up with green black and white but wasnt sure if that would be okay for a spring wedding. I really love green but am not sure what colors would go good with it. If you could help me out with any spring color ideas i would really apprciate it.

    Thank you,

    Vanessa

  10. I am getting married in June 09 and I was thinking of doing coral and green! These pictures helped me decide that these are the colors I really want. Does anyone have any more suggestions on flowers in this color palette? Thanks!!
