Today’s adventure engagement photo session first captured my attention because of the gorgeous photos by Nirav Photography, but what really drew me in (and made me want to stay for more!) was the story his images conveyed. For Chris and Alice, he documented a day filled with new adventures, special relatives, family traditions, and meaningful places.
From Nirav Photography: This year, my focus will be on becoming a stronger storyteller with my photography. Ive already started making a few changes and one of them is the Choose Your Own Adventure session which will be an alternative, more documentary-based approach to the engagement session.
The CYOA session was inspired by the classic storybooks from my younger years that gave you the option to select your own alternate endings. The idea of the session is that you, the couple, get to decide what adventure youd like to go on. It could be anything from a walk through the forest, staying in a yurt in Big Sur, hip hop dance lessons, or whatever your creative minds can come up with. I recommend doing something youve been wanting to do for a while now. My job is to capture and tell the story of your adventure together.
For Chris and Alice, the first stop on their adventure was paddle boarding. They both love to surf, but had never tried paddle boarding. No silly out-take photos though; they were both naturals!
After their paddle boarding adventure, the couple was off to visit Chris’s grandparents at their charming hilltop Sausalito home. Edith and Tibor prepared a beautiful spread of traditional Hungarian desserts, and the conversation quickly turned to architecture and art; talents shared by everyone present. The love and respect that Chris and his grandparents feel for each other is obvious, as well as the fact that they have warmly welcomed Alice into the family.
Chris and Alice wrapped their adventurous day up with portraits at one of their favorite spots; a beach they frequently surf at on the Marin Headland.
Chris and Alice, thank you so much for sharing your day with us! We send our best wishes for many more adventures in your new life together.
