Plan Your Scotland Wedding: Vendors, Inspiration, & Expert Advice

When we decided to get married outside in Scottish winter we didn't know what we might be letting ourselves in for. We loved the idea of eloping but didn't really know if we were just being crazy. When we spoke to Katy & Jim about our plans we were instantly put at ease. Katy & Jim have done this before and know exactly they're letting themselves in for. They were helpful in suggesting locations and timings for our ceremony that would both photograph well and also be practical on the day, as well as passing on advice and experience from previous couples who eloped. When we got off the phone we immediately started to get excited about our day. One of our other concerns was cost: we weren't sure whether we should devote such a percentage of our budget to photography. Katy & Jim were worth every penny. Our elopement was small and with so few guests we thought the value of having really good photographs as a lasting memory of our day was essential. Their photos have a beautiful, wild, almost ethereal feel to them that is both artistic and documentary. If you're thinking about an outdoorsy elopement Katy & Jim are two of the best. They are professional, experienced, and take wonderful photos. Beyond that they were a pleasure to have around on our special day and we highly recommend them.

We are so glad that we hired Laszlo as our photographer for our elopement to The Trossachs. Being two fairly introverted people, we were a bit nervous about our photo shoot. But Laszlo's warm and down to earth nature immediately put us at ease and we had so much fun! We are absolutely delighted with our photos and they completely exceeded all our expectations. I could not recommend Ieva more if you are looking for a photographer in her service area. She creates absolute magic for you. More than that, she cares so much about telling your story and giving you the very best experience ever. She's so professional, but also so sweet, genuine and friendly that in the short time you are together it really does feel like you are making a lifelong friend. She really is amazing, and a photographer you can trust. The weather conditions for our vow renewal quickly turned pretty awful, with high winds and freezing rain. I was convinced I would look like a drowned rat and that all our photos would be horrendous. Ieva promised that if we went with it, we would get some really magical shots, and she was so right. She pulled off what I thought was impossible and created the most moody, dramatic, stunning gallery for us. Seriously, some of her shots made me feel like I was in a movie. I am so grateful for what she created for us; from wide sweeping landscapes, to capturing the intimate laughs and smiles we shared as we read our vows in the pouring rain. Ieva is truly amazing. Do yourself a favor and book with her if you can. You will not regret it. . . I promise!

Where to begin…my fiancé and I are from Dallas, Texas and are completely unfamiliar with Scotland. We decided to do a last-minute photo shoot to capture our engagement - little did we know it would be freezing, windy and pouring rain. Elliot arrived on the day and exceeded ALL expectations. He offered to reschedule the shoot due to the weather and we declined due to our itinerary. Elliot had traveled through the rain 2 hours to meet us. Neither of us would describe ourselves as photogenic. We headed out in the conditions nervously, but Elliot made us quickly comfortable. The result was indescribable. We were FLOORED at how beautiful Elliot was able to capture such a poor looking day. He had scouted the location in Glencoe prior to our meeting and picked the best locations.
