A modern venue with vintage inspired details is the perfect recipe for a Chicago wedding. Luisa and Josh were married at Architectural Artifacts, a quirky and eclectic venue choice. Luisa was such a classic bride with her demure and classic styling, and we are absolutely enamored by her choice of bridesmaids’ dresses. Photographer Liz Lui did a wonderful job capturing the many colors and elements that made this wedding so special and unique.
The Couple:
Luisa and Josh
The Wedding:
Architectural Artifacts, Chicago, Illinois
The Inspiration:
Because our wedding took place at an antique venue we tried to incorporate a vintage, romantic feel throughout. We also wanted to take advantage of the venue itself and all of its interesting pieces and places as much as possible by using their objects and curiosities on our tables, as well as the venue’s interesting spaces and installations for our photography.
The Moments:
Our favorite moment from the wedding occurred during our ceremony. Our Officiant had us each write a word that we believe best describes the other and why, without sharing them with each other. Then our Officiant read them to us as our “vows” at the ceremony. Josh said the word “heaven” best described Luisa to him and Luisa said the word “enthusiasm” best described Josh to her. It was a wonderful way to share a bit of our personal lives with our close friends and family gathered and of course, we both cried.
The Couple Recommends:
We were absolutely floored by all of our wedding professionals and firmly believe they are a big reason why we were able to enjoy our day as much as we did. Liz Lui, our photographer, was so professional. She knew exactly how to work with people and also how to get shots that truly captured the evening. We believe we will always be able to look back at our pictures and remember exactly what the night felt like. Jewell Catering, our caterer, made the entire event so seamless and we were so kind and open throughout the entire process. They truly coordinated the entire event and went above and beyond just providing the food – and the food was amazing! Style Matters Deejays and Dustin Harris, our deejay, set the tone of the party from the very beginning coordinating our processional and recessional music exactly to our taste and made sure everyone had an amazing time on the dance floor. My parents friends are still raving about how much fun they had as well as our friends! Flora Chicago and Chuck Huston, our florist, did absolutely amazing work with very little direction and budget. They were able to produce unique and beautiful arrangements that looked like we had spent thousands and we are so grateful that they took our business seriously and gave us such a high quality product even though we were likely a very small client.
