This Vintage Industrial New Year’s Eve Wedding at Brik Venue was a Night to Remember

October 9, 2018 | juliette

A little industrial, a little Art Deco, and a whole lot romantic: Ann and Connor’s wedding at Brik Venue was an unforgettable New Year’s Eve celebration from beginning to end! Because they decided to tie the knot on such an important night, this creative couple wanted to throw a party to remember, and we think they did just that. The DIY decor pieces that Connor made, including the ceremony backdrop, table numbers, menus, and slate drink menu, added personal touches to the industrial space that were as beautiful as they were impressive. Nothing about this wedding was overdone, but it had a distinct vintage glam vibe and loads of greenery that added pretty touches of nature with an unexpected twist. From the sweet getting ready moments to the kiss countdown and fireworks at the end of the night, Grant Daniels Photography did a phenomenal job capturing every moment of this Texas wedding!

The Couple:

Ann and Connor

The Wedding:

Brik Venue, Fort Worth, Texas

To us, the most important aspects of our wedding were that it emphasized the principles we wished to build our marriage on and that it was filled with those whom we love. We also chose to keep the traditions we found sacred and meaningful and then totally just did whatever we wanted with the rest of it! Of course, we wanted it to be a great New Year’s Eve party.

We were married by a dear, long-time friend of ours who actually introduced us. We will never forget standing in front of him, before all our guests, surrounded by our closest friends and family– vowing to love and cherish each other for as long as we both shall live.

Connor designed and made our alter, table numbers, invitations, menus, and some slate engraved drink menus. The alter was a handmade cedar and cloth creation of our own design, and the table numbers were made from mirrored gold and gloss black acrylic.

We had many surprises our wedding day. It snowed and iced that morning (in Texas) and the highways from both of our hometowns to where we had the wedding were a wreck! Thankfully our vendors were absolute champs and everything went off without a hitch (without our outdoor happy hour). But, most importantly, everyone who chose to make the dangerous trek got there safely!
