Simple Still Means Stunning in This Springfield Manor Winery & Distillery Wedding

September 29, 2018 | juliette

When it comes to wedding planning, the K.I.S.S. (keep it simple sweetheart) method is always best, as you can clearly see from Shoshie and Kyle’s beautiful Maryland wedding at Springfield Manor Winery & Distillery! The couple kept their color palette super simple with whites, greens, and hints of blue, which was both elegant and effortlessly stunning. Their garden ceremony and indoor reception inside the manor were grand enough on their own, so we love that they let Wild Pollen Design add romantic flower arrangements but kept the rest of the decor minimal. Shoshie was breathtaking in a timeless Stella York lace gown and romantic updo, and Kyle was the picture of classic groom style in a suit from The Black Tux. Photographer Katelyn Ortego‘s effortless, laid-back style was the perfect match to capture every emotional, joyful, and simply stunning moment of this winery wedding!

The Couple:

Shoshie and Kyle

The Wedding:

Springfield Manor Winery & Distillery, Frederick, Maryland

Kyle and I had a first look and wanted it to be a super intimate time where we shared sentimental gifts with each other. I kept a journal throughout our engagement of prayers and thoughts about our marriage and future life together. This was my gift to him. Of course, he took me by complete surprise and gave me 3 journals with hundreds of letters that he had been writing to me since the day he knew he would marry me. I was overwhelmed with emotion and surprised that I had never known about these! It was the sweetest moment.

It is so hard to choose the most memorable part of the day but, if we had to pick, we would say our ceremony. While every single part of our day included something extremely special to the both of us, our ceremony took us both by surprise. It was an incredible time where we were able to share our personal promises to each other, worship the Lord with our friends and families, and partake in communion with each other. It was absolutely breathtaking!

Choosing music was an area of the planning process that I was very concerned about. I wanted songs that reflected our relationship and weren’t just played because they were popular. Our processional song was “Do You Rise” by Ian Randall Thornton and our recessional was “Strawberry Swing” by Coldplay. I believe emotions can be felt through music and I wanted the emotion of our day to be felt through our music choices. My favorite song, though, was our first dance song, “La Reyna” by Penny and Sparrow. This song was all about loving each other through the ordinary and extraordinary. Kyle and I both felt that it spoke truly about our relationship.

Try to involve each other as much as possible. Engagement is such a quick season of life and being able to share the wedding process with each other is something you’ll never get to do again! Wedding planning can be stressful and chaotic, but it does not have to be! Analyze your relationship with your fiancé and let the many beautiful aspects of that relationship inspire the details of your big day.

I can not say enough great things about our photographer Katie. She totally removed the stress of the day and brought genuine laughter into every moment. Everyone enjoyed working with her and she took the time to get to know each person that was important to us. Katie had a great structure in regards to her photo timeline but made sure to build in extra time for those sweet moments that should not be overlooked. She captured our best candid moments and looking back at my photos I can feel those same emotions I experienced on our wedding day.
