Romantic Mexican Wedding Overlooking Lake Avándaro

May 21, 2017 | juliette

Michelle and Pablo’s wedding at a private family home near Lake Avándaro combined laid-back vibes, elegant style, and gorgeous views! The couple had both a civil ceremony and a church ceremony before ending the night at a fabulous lakeside reception. The civil ceremony took place on the back patio of the home, which offered a relaxed setting and a perfect view of the lake. Then they made their way to the intimate community church where the couple exchanged vows and received blessings from their loved ones. The bride’s custom Angeles Godoy gown was a true work of art, especially after she added long lace gloves for the church ceremony and reception. Jaime Art Photography captured every moment of this romantic wedding beautifully, including the couple’s dreamy portraits on the pier!

The Couple:

Michelle and Pablo

The Wedding:

Private Residence, Valle de Bravo, Mexico

We chose to get married and have our reception at Pablo´s mothers weekend house. It’s a very special place for us because Avandaro was the first trip we made as a couple, and also the place is spectacular. It is a hidden place in the woods, with a lake at the front surrounded by trees. Up from that you have an amazing view of the sunset and sunrise. It that was a very special place to share and made us feel peace and total happiness because we were disconnected from everything except the people we love.

We had two ceremonies. We had a civil ceremony at the house with the view of the lake, which gave it a special and unique vibe. We also had a church ceremony. At the end of that one, the guests threw rosemary, which is a symbol of luck and everlasting love, and rang a stick with a bunch of bells and ribbons attached to it to symbolize a rain of good wishes from the altar to the door, wishing us forever happiness.

We really liked working with our photographer, Jaime. He is an excellent person and photographer. He have a special sensitivity to capture the essence of what’s happening in the moment and the feelings. He was one of our best vendors; he arrived on time, he was always around us, and he was very helpful with everything.

The detail I love the most of my dress was color because it makes seems vintage while, at the same time, the style makes it trendy. The long train was something I really wanted to have, and the lace details make it beautiful.
