Elegant Rustic Aubrey, Texas Wedding at The Grove

August 12, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

With a ceremony in a field and an indoor reception that sparkled in shades of gold, Sarah and Evan’s wedding at The Grove had rustic Texas charm with off-the-charts elegance! Brandi Allyse Photography truly captured the joy and light-hearted nature of this wedding, from the sweet getting ready moments to the couple’s romantic golden-hour portraits to the tribute group dance for the groom’s late grandfather at the reception. Their ceremony was backed by a gorgeous twisted wood arch and their reception had gold-on-gold decor with everything from the table linens to the centerpiece vases sparkling in the candlelight. Sarah looked stunning in a fitted lace Sottero & Midgley gown, which she paired with romantic waves, a long veil, and a classic white bouquet designed by Andy’s Floral Events. Every inch of this Texas wedding was thoughtfully and elegantly designed, and we simply can’t get enough!

We are blessed to have lives full of laughter and we wanted our wedding to mirror that! Our main goal was making sure the day was a blast for everyone involved.

I walked down the aisle to an instrumental version of “Mario Kart Love Song” by Sam Hart. We are gamers and Evan decided it was “our song” early on in our relationship. It isn’t too well known, so it felt like a sweet little secret between the two of us.

Our photographer Brandi was incredible to work with! She is so much fun and naturally hilarious. She kept the group laughing all day and made everyone feel at ease. How she does all this while simultaneously capturing the most beautiful photos is a true mystery. We just love her!

We had quite a few DIY projects, but my favorites were the head table backdrop wall and the cupcake stand. Evan and his best man built the backdrop after I showed them a photo on Pinterest. They took the idea and ran with it and built such a gorgeous and statement-making piece! The cupcake stand was built by my stepdad. He put so much effort into it and it came out even more lovely than we had imagined.

Our favorite part of the day was easily the dancing after dinner. Having all our loved ones dance and celebrate with us is something we will never forget! Evan‘s father had the DJ play “Che La Luna,” which was Evan‘s late grandfather’s favorite song, so we all danced and twirled our napkins in his honor.

Vintage-Inspired Garden Wedding at Sweet Meadow Farm

August 11, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

In true Georgia fashion, Kristin and Brian’s wedding at Sweet Meadow Farm was as sweet as could be and full of vintage inspiration. Although the weather took a turn for the worse after their first look and portrait session with Yellow Bird Visuals, this couple rolled with it and had the coziest ceremony inside the farmstead and an indoor-outdoor reception covered by a clear tent. For a touch of vintage charm, they rented mismatched place settings from The Prissy Plate Company and had The Botanical Studio design understated floral arrangements that added warmth to the décor. We are wholeheartedly in love with Kristin’s beaded Jenny Packham gown, which she paired with a delicate gold hairpiece from Twigs & Honey for a vintage-inspired bridal look that matched the vibe of the entire day — and looked so chic with the fur stole she added for the reception!

The Couple:

Kristin and Brian

The Wedding:

Sweet Meadow Farm, Tallapoosa, Georgia

I have always loved vintage gowns and long sleeves (swoon!) When I tried on my Jenny Packham gown, I didn’t think I would ever want to take it off! My incredible seamstress helped me customize the back with a peep-hole, created a custom belt, and made it fit like a glove! My vintage inspired headpiece from Twigs & Honey was the icing on the cake. My husband and his groomsmen wore beautiful blue suits fromGeneration Tux. He added a vest to his attire, which made him stand out and added some vintage flair. My bridesmaids were dressed in incredible beaded gowns by Adrianna Papell.

Brian and I are generally relaxed people, and we wanted our day to reflect that. We toured our venue, Sweet Meadow Farm, on a beautiful spring day and knew immediately that there was no comparison. Their focus on a “slow” wedding day and their awesome team allowed us to find some calm in the craziness of the day!

Our ceremony was the most memorable part of the day. It was a freezing day in Georgia — so cold you could see our breath when we said our vows. I was shivering so hard that I had to sidebar with our guests to tell them that I was not incredibly nervous! Brian and I planted a fiddle leaf fig for our unity ceremony, and we had to walk around our arbor to get to the tree. Brian walked around first and I (clumsy as can be) almost knocked myself out on the arbor. I announced that I was okay and we all had a great laugh. Our ceremony was even more perfect because of its imperfections!

Our best planning advice is to always prepare for the whims of mother nature, and try not to let crazy weather cause you to stress! April in Georgia is hit or miss, and we ended up with freezing weather and rain. Thankfully we planned ahead with a backup location for the ceremony and a completely clear, magical tent for the reception. Despite the rain and cold, our day was absolutely incredible!

We wanted something simple, casual, and delicious for our menu, so we immediately called the awesome team at Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q. We have always loved our neighborhood Fox Bros (an Atlanta staple) and chose some of our favorites for the day. We selected mini pork sliders, quartered chicken, and brisket chili, along with tons of delicious sides like mac & cheese and spicy green beans. The meal paired perfectly with our mismatched china from The Prissy Plate Company.

Free-Spirited California Countryside Wedding at a Private Ranch in Santa Ynez

August 11, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

Bri and Boomer treated their guests to a day on a private ranch in their California countryside wedding, and it could not have been more idyllic! With the help of Nicole Symer Events, the couple created a cozy western-meets-vintage vibe for their day, bringing in vintage chairs, antlers, antique textiles, and rustic wood accents to add dimension to the outdoor space. After exchanging vows under a huge oak tree, the couple and their guests dined under the stars in front of an old-time Western saloon, hotel, and general store. Bri looked like a true bohemian goddess in her off-the-shoulder lace Rue De Seine gown and flower-adorned hair, and Boomer channeled his country roots in denim, white button down, and cowboy hat. As if these photos captured by Cork Creative aren’t dreamy enough, they also captured a video that’s truly swoon-worthy.

While planning all of your little details, don’t forget WHY you are planning your wedding in the first place. It is a celebration of the love between you and your significant other, after all. That is what it should be about. When you feel yourself going over the edge of stress from planning, take moment to breathe and remember those details are only brief. It is the overwhelming love and joy you will feel the day of that is most important.

The moment when I pulled up to the ceremony site and saw all of my friends and family gathered together and my soon to be husband standing up top waiting for me. It was when I first cried. All of my emotions overcame me and I felt the happiest I have ever been. For Boomer, his most memorable moment was sharing our personal vows at the altar. Getting caught up in day-to-day life makes moments such as those ones you’ll never forget.

We went for a vintage, western vibe and really it just came naturally. It pretty much expresses who we are as a couple and everything we love. Our house is decorated that way, mostly from Boomer‘s side of the family. He holds a strong value in the history of the countryside and family. We wanted to emulate that feeling and vibe. I am not sure if we accomplished it correctly to the rest of our guests, but we loved it and it felt perfectly at home to us.
