Modern Romantic Karma Vineyards Wedding in Shades of Blue

November 3, 2019 | Junebug Weddings

When Rechelle and Erik were planning their Karma Vineyards wedding, they couldn’t think of a better theme than modern romance — and we totally agree! The bride a.k.a. Sea of Sanctuary planned the vision for her romantic day, and Lauren Neely Photography captured every moment of it perfectly. The girls were dressed in hues of blue from Lulu’s, which looked fabulous next to Rechelle’s feminine Made With Love Bridal gown. Just wait until you see the pampas grass and greenery goodness floral designer Wandering Blooms created! If you’re into phenomenal views and simple elegance, you will absolutely swoon over these two’s Karma Vineyards wedding day!

The Couple:

Rechelle & Erik

The Wedding:

Karma Vineyards, Chelan, Washington

I loved my dress, I knew I wanted something lace but not a traditional lace, I wore Riley Luxe by Made With Love Bridal and had a cathedral length veil. For my makeup look, I went with a rose gold eye but everything else was pretty natural but just done a little heavier.

When planning our wedding the two most important things to us were photography and videography. We heard so many times that the day flies by, which it does, and we wanted to be able to look back on our special day and have as many images and videos as possible to remember and see for the first time.

The most memorable part of our day was a tie between our first look and the moment I walked down the aisle. Our first look was just Erik and I and it melted away all the jitters I had all morning. Walking down the aisle was equally as memorable because that was the first time I got to see all our family and friends and knowing they were there to celebrate and support us was so special.

Erik and I both grew up coming to Chelan so we knew we wanted to get married there. Karma Vineyards is known for its views and food so it was an easy choice.

We absolutely love Lauren, we knew from the moment we met her that we had to have her as our photographer. She really knows how to make you feel super comfortable and essentially like family. She knew when to let us have a break, she kept us on schedule and even took extra photos that guests asked for.

Our wedding colors were shades of blue, gold and white. Our favorite color is blue so it was something easy for both of us to agree on and blue is a classic color. White, gold and green to add a touch of romance.

This Tropical Glam Old San Juan Wedding Inspiration Took Cues from the Vibrant Puerto Rican City

November 2, 2019 | Junebug Weddings

Give us all the tropical glam vibes, please! Nikk Nguyen Photo and Soiree By Karen put a glamorous twist on this Old San Juan wedding styled shoot with bohemian-inspired chairs and lots of texture to create a romantic, yet fun-loving vibe that only Puerto Rico can deliver. Floral designer Natalia Liriano utilized a color palette of coral, magenta, and light pink in the floral explosion on the couples’ sweetheart table — and we are obsessed with it! And, if you’re into fashion, you’ll absolutely love how chic this bride looks in Novias Otilio Santiago and the most on-trend hat for the scene. If you’ve been dreaming of an Old San Juan wedding or all things “tropluance,” this one is for you!

Karen designed every aspect of this wedding perfectly and displayed the tropical theme like no other. Capturing the essence of the island in a true love story came naturally.

Puerto Rico never fails to give you culture, tradition, colors, wonderful scenarios and of course, amazing people. I’ve been taking annual trips to Puerto Rico to visit the island, but I haven’t been here since hurricane Maria. We decided to do something special here and orchestrate this styled shoot to show off the beauty of the island.

Every corner in Old San Juan brought inspiration! This is truly a creative mind’s playground, which was perfectly paired with a bohemian style vision and a romance that sweeps through the streets of the city.

This No-Waste Wedding Brought a Burst of Color to the Colorado Mountains

November 1, 2019 | Junebug Weddings

Our comments and DMs have been filled with requests for no-waste wedding ideas. You asked for it, and JanieLynn and Everett answered with the most spectacular DIY, no-waste wedding we’ve ever seen! It was important to the couple that their investments were made with mindful intentions, both financially and emotionally. For example, every floral arrangement from this day was crafted with artificial flowers purchased on sale at Hobby Lobby. JanieLynn’s boho, “witchy”-inspired gown by Rue de Seine flowed elegantly in the wind and added the perfect high-end touch to this effortlessly beautiful day. We can’t wait for you to see how Allie Chambers Photography documented every laugh, tear, and dance party moment from this no-waste wedding day!

The Couple:

JanieLynn & Everett

The Wedding:

Private Residence, Salida, Colorado

Wedding planning advice from the bride: Looking back, I am glad for being slow in making decisions. Learn to take in everyone’s advice, let their voice be heard, and then feel confident with you and your partner’s voice being the last word. People seem to have lots of expectations around your day, and oftentimes they need to feel fully heard if they are going to let that expectation make room for your dream.

It was most important to us that we have a day that is reflective of us as a couple. My husband has a Master’s degree in Sustainability and mine is in Social Work, so we love the way that people and planet work together. We wanted a day that celebrated the people who made us who we are and the places that formed us while still being mindful of what we invested in, both financially and emotionally.

We chose Salida, Colorado because that’s where Everett and I fell in love when we were working as backpacking guides one summer. It’s a tiny mountain town that will steal your heart, and we wanted to take our guests on an adventure with us. We chose the ranch because it’s owned by our friends, and they blessed us with the full space to us however we chose. We are truly so loved.

I wanted the colors of the wedding to work around the bridesmaids dresses, and I wanted the bridesmaids to choose their own dresses. So we went to the mall, chose dresses we liked, laid they on the floor to make sure the colors matched, and then that was the wedding scheme (I think most of their dresses were $20-40 with a couple outliers, but everyone chose their own)! From there, I just went to estate sales and thrifted (the rug down the aisle was $10, and I’m a sucker for a bargain).

All the flowers in the wedding are artificial, so they can be used again. It was important to Everett that we have a no waste wedding, so most of the decor was rented or borrowed (thank you Megan from Bartaco in Nashville!) and all the food was composted and plates and utensils were recycled. Also, I gave my mom and two aunts full reign on the flowers, and they crushed it.

Our ceremony was about equality. It was very important to us that our words be fair and equal, having nothing to do with gender, but everything to do with our love and commitment to each other as people. Our officiant was so thoughtful about the phrasing of not only our vows, but the entire ceremony. “I promise to help you when you need it, and step aside when you don’t.” and “if you have to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders, I’ll be right there to carry the weight with you.” were both parts of our vows that I think about often. I love the mutually shared respect in our words and recognition of each person as whole.

Allie Chambers Photography is amazing. She embraces the awkward moments while also coming prepared with a vision. She creates an environment that fosters reflection and fun so seamlessly!
