This year Junebug Weddings is excited to be sponsoring the 2009 Urban Unveiled wedding show at Beneroya Hall! It’s a fun evening of drinks, snacks, fashion and give-aways, and meeting amazing wedding professionals face-to-face. We always have a great time at the event, and we hope that you will too! To give all our Seattle readers a sneak peek at what to expect this October 15th we interviewed the team behind the show- Sharlane Chase, Jesse Brix and Travis McBurney. Here’s what they had to say…
Q: Urban Unveiled is called The Seattle Wedding Event like no other. Tell us about what makes this event so unique.
A: Urban Unveiled is the most decadent and over the top wedding event of the year. Each participating vendor is hand-selected by our Board, and we invite a limited number of vendors in each category, ensuring the highest quality of vendor services. We truly think of it as a party. It is a chance to get dressed up, have fun, and meet the best talent in the industry. This is not a traditional wedding show with high pressure sales. This is a cocktail party, an evening culminating in a fashion show by the legendary Luly Yang, her only dedicated bridal show of the year. Our amazing “Art of Giving” tops off the evening, featuring prizes from our fabulous vendors.
Q: Who are some of your participating partners?
A: We’re honored to have over 40 participating vendors – many who have been our partners since the show’s inception in 2007. We are also excited to be bringing in many new partners this year.
Q: Is there a design theme or atmosphere for this years event?
A: Every year the theme and design changes. This year’s inspiration is South Beach Chic. We will transform Benaroya Hall to reflect this sleek and sexy style with tropical floral, art deco inspired linens, sheer draping, and dramatic lighting, all working together to set a festive party atmosphere.
Q: Since youve had a sneak peek at the menu, what tasty snacks and cocktails should attendees absolutely NOT miss?
A: Our menu this year is unsurpassed! We will be featuring wines from our fabulous new sponsors, Novelty Hill – Januik, as well as Layer Cake Wines. We are pleased to announce that Seattle’s four premium caterers: Herban Feast, Lisa Dupar Catering, TASTE Events, and Tom Douglas Catering, will be offering food to be experienced. Guests can enjoy tray passed hors d’oeuvres and signature offerings at each caterers station.
Q: What is “The Art of Giving?
A: The Art of Giving is a raffle featuring gifts provided by our vendors, some valued at thousands of dollars. Each guest receives a ticket upon entry. There is no additional purchase necessary, no need to bid. This is simply a gift from our vendors to the attending brides to be.
Q: What should couples keep in mind as theyre attending Urban Unveiled, meeting wedding professionals and thinking of their own wedding planning? What do you hope theyll take advantage of while theyre there, and take away with them at the end of the night?
A: We hope couples keep in mind that each vendor is hand-selected. They are truly the best at what they do. Even though each category is limited, our board ensures that a broad spectrum of styles is represented. This allows each couple to find the perfect vendors for their own unique celebration. Urban Unveiled is here to inspire each and every couple. We want people to truly enjoy themselves and view this as a celebration of their own upcoming wedding.
