We are so excited to share Alexandria and Tim’s fun and colorful Texas wedding designed by new Junebug Member Lavender Joy Weddings. With a bright color palette of pink, mint and mustard, guests were treated to classic Southern hospitality balanced expertly with modern stylistic flair. Their wedding day was photographed by Taylor Lord Photography.

The Couple: Alexandria and Tim
The Wedding: 4.20.2013 – Thistle Springs Ranch, Cleburne, Texas

The Goals: When we began visiting venues and discussing our wedding date, we realized that we felt strongly about having an outdoor ceremony in the springtime, before the Texas heat becomes too overwhelming. Our extended families live all over the country, so we made it a point to show them a little southern style and tradition.

The Design: We knew that we wanted to create an atmosphere that felt more like a family reunion than a formal affair. We wanted our decor to include a combination of rustic and whimsical elements. I love bold pops of color in unexpected places so the rustic backdrop of the ranch was perfect when mixed with bright florals, modern linens, and creative chalkboard art.

The Look: I would describe our wedding day fashion and style as classic and preppy with a little modern flair. I fell in love with my dress because of the unique rosette design. The layers of frayed tulle were the perfect rustic touch. I wanted my bridesmaids to wear different dresses and I completely trusted their individual styles and selections. I am so happy with the way the combination turned out and I know my bridesmaids felt confident in what they were wearing as well. Tim coordinated the men’s clothing after being inspired by the perfect bow ties. He wanted an All-American look that was still fresh and young.

The Moments: Our favorite part of the day was honestly the time we spent with our closest friends and family while getting ready and taking photos before the ceremony. We are so thankful that we decided to do a first look because it really helped us to relax and soak up the details of the ceremony. It was also incredibly special to spend the few minutes before and after the ceremony taking photos and laughing with the people who are most important in our lives.

The Advice: Breathe. Soak up the moment. This advice was told to us time and time again. Tim was in medical school and we were in a long distance relationship while planning the wedding so there were definitely stressful moments. I am thankful for the people who reminded us to enjoy this sacred and special time.
