Bohemian Wedding in the French Alps

Bohemian-Wedding-in-the-French-Alps-PRETTY-DAYS (30 of 34)

Because we like to start off the week with something pretty, we’re excited to share this wedding captured by the always lovely PRETTY DAYS with you today! Chadie and Nicolas’ bohemian wedding in the French Alps was inspired by natural and vintage styles. The scarlet orange and aqua color palette managed to be simultaneously vibrant and delicately romantic. The bold assortment of bridesmaids dresses is at the top of our list of favorite things, along with the creative and modern graphic design elements throughout the day.

The Couple:

Chadie and Nicolas

The Wedding:

Mont d’Arbois, French Alps

The Inspiration:

We based our inspiration on a bohemian and vintage style wedding. Both rather simple and warm, we wanted something at our image. Since the venue was a cabin in an alpine environment, we wanted things to be in accordance with nature and with soft colors. So we chose Amy, the perfect florist for the job, whom we totally and rightfully trusted for all the floral arrangements, floral crowns, etc., and who even did my bouquet out of the flowers found in the woods behind the cabin. Wonderful! For the venue, we used a few elements of the mountain like old skis or ski racks for the photobooth.

Our colors were peach and mint. Groomsmen wore grey suits and peach bowties and bridesmaids wore coral dresses and flower crowns with peach colored flowers. The groom wore a dark blue suit with a mint bowtie. As for me, I wore a backless Laure de Sagazan dress with lace from Calais and silk (crepe de soie) loose yet classy, with a white floral crown and a jade bracelet for the light green color.

In addition to these lovely images, we are lucky enough to be able to share Chadie and Nicolas’ wedding film with you, captured and created by ClapStudio.

The Moments:

Hard to choose one favorite moment as the whole weekend is our favorite moment. But if we had to choose, it’ll be when we exchanged vows and when we all cried at our families’ speeches. So many nice words said and a symbol of the union of our two families which moved us.

The Couple Recommends:

From the start we made sure that all our vendors were trustworthy, professional, in accordance with our style and needs, and able to understand us. It most definitely was the case of our floral designer Amy, photographer Thierry, videographer Sebastien, graphic designer Delphine, event manager of the venue Raphaelle, and the DJ who made our guests dance till 6:30am. Without them, we would never have been able to enjoy and keep so many good memories of this week-end.

The Moments:

Hard to pick one…
It was sunny and clear the entire time we were on maui – except for about 1.5 hours during cocktail hour, when it poured rain… When we came back from taking photos, we walked into our reception to Milli Vanilli’s “Blame it on the rain” with all of our guests laughing and dancing despite the rain without a care at all – it was awesome!

The Couple Recommends:

Honestly, all of our vendors were amazing! I must say that Lorrie from Maui’s Angels was a true professional and such a pleasure – she also recommended almost every other vendor we used – so her advice is sound. Dmitri and Sandra were also wonderful – they really captured our day with some fantastic photos.

Literature Inspired Wedding at the Aria in Minneapolis

March 1, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Literature-Inspired-Wedding-at-the-Aria-in-Minneapolis (6 of 27)

Juan and Christine have a love for literature and plays and decided their wedding should resemble that. Books, typewriters, and other elements that mirror the stories they enjoy created the centerpieces for each table. This fun wedding filled with personal touches at the Aria in Minneapolis was captured by the incredible photographers of Studio Laguna.

The Couple:

Christine and Juan

The Wedding:

Aria in Minneapolis

The Inspiration:

I don’t know that we had a specific inspiration for the decor. What was most important to us was a feeling of warmth and simplicity, and that each decoration was personal. We were on a budget, so we got creative! The venues were huge, so creating an intimate feeling was important–having warm and soft light helped us achieve what we were going for in our reception space. We had tons of candles, and the florals were lush and soft. Literature and plays have played a huge part in our lives together, so each centerpiece was designed around a book or script that meant something special to us. The bridal party was dressed very classically, which was well-suited to the venue. It was important to us that everyone was comfortable! We found that happy guests make the most beautiful weddings!

The Couple Recommends:

Honestly, we recommend every single one of our vendors, every chance we get. They were exemplary. Brett Dorrian made Christine feel confident and like a million bucks. Studio Laguna were creative and fun photographers, and were a blast to have in the crowd. CRAVE’s food was delicious, and their staff was incredible: they were so kind and had perfect timing for the service. The staff at both Aria and the Basilica were generous with their time, efficient, and worked with us to create the perfect day. Taylor Kollitz is a brilliant pastry chef from Cafe Maude and Mill Valley Kitchen, and she delivered a delicious and beautiful cake. Vosa Em is a talented musician who offered his own flavor of music at the reception, while also giving us exactly what we and our guests requested. There was something for everyone! We could go on and on about each of the vendors.
