Industrial Maine Wedding at The Portland Company

Creating a day full of love, family, and being true to who they are, Justin and Madison envisioned a stress-free, rustic wedding with neutral touches. The couple set a neutral color theme and allowed their wedding party to choose their own attire. The groom, who owns Pioneer Goods Co., supplied vintage, rustic decor to fill the open space of The Portland Company in Maine. Cafe lights hung from the wood beamed ceiling, creating a romanic setting for the couple to exchange vows. We absolutely love how Justin and Madison chose to have a pizza bar for their guests and gifted them with homemade jars of jam! Making sure not to miss a moment, Photography by Henry + Mac captured genuinely beautiful photos of the couple on their big day!

The Couple:

Justin and Madison

The Wedding:

The Portland Company, Portland, Maine

The Inspiration:

We chose the Portland Company as our venue because it gave us the freedom to fully transform a space to our liking. The bones of the space are amazing- exposed brick, wide pine floors, and a view of Portland Harbor. Justin owns a store, Pioneer Goods Co., where he sells curated vintage home goods. His aesthetic is rustic, farmhouse, and industrial, and we wanted this vibe to translate into our wedding decor. We sourced old farmhouse doors, shutters, and crates to make the space feel intimate, warm, and worn-in, and we filled hundreds of vintage bottles with loose flowers. We wanted our guests and our wedding party to feel as comfortable as possible, so we chose a neutral color pallette and allowed people to choose their own attire. My wedding day fashion was relaxed and comfortable- a simple lace dress from BHLDN and minimal jewelry. We wanted to keep the sparkle to a minimum- the day was more about love, family, and being true to who we are in our everyday lives.

The Moments:

It may sound cliche, but honestly, the moment we were declared man and wife! There was so much build-up to that moment, but to have it be official was the best feeling. If you watch our wedding video, you can see Justin do some sort of laugh/cry/fist pump combination when our officiant declared us married- it’s really the best way to describe how we felt in that moment!

The Couple Recommends:

As small business owners ourselves, we made an effort to work with other small, independent businesses. Dana and Zak (of Henry and Mac) were our photographers, and they worked with us throughout the planning process. They connected us to our wedding videographers, Dani and Mike from Sailor Abe Films. Mary-Theresa Tringale was our day-of coordinator, and our wedding day wouldn’t have been the same without her. She went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure things ran smoothly behind the scenes, and to ensure we were relaxed and at-ease. Since we planned the wedding ourselves, and were responsible for the complete set-up and break-down of our event, she coordinated with the outside vendors to ensure our vision was fully executed.

Black and White Wedding at Hyatt Regency Coconut Point

June 12, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Black-and-White-Wedding-at-Hyatt-Regency-Coconut-Point (8 of 16)

Elizabeth and Chad dreamed of a chic wedding with classic touches. Their black and white wedding at Hyatt Regency Coconut Point in Bonita Springs, Florida was dressed head to toe in elegance. Black, off-the-shoulder bridesmaid gowns and black, fluffy tulle flower girl skirts created the perfect frame for the bride’s remarkable open back, laced white gown. Instead of holding a traditional floral bouquet, the bride walked down the aisle holding a bouquet made of crystal jewels. Incredibly talented photographer Kristen Weaver captured the exquisite moments at this elegant black and white wedding!

The Couple:

Elizabeth and Chad

The Wedding:

Hyatt Regency Coconut Point, Bonita Springs, Florida

The Inspiration:

Modern chic. It was all black and white with some gold touches. Lots of black and white stripe details. My absolute favorite part was out dance floor. It was so gorgeous I wanted to sleep on it!!! My other favorite part was our head table.

The Moments:

Everything! We had such a blast! The speeches were beautiful. My favorite part was probably the dancing. I’m pretty sure every guest at the wedding was dancing, drinking and having a blast! Music was phenomenal. Oh, and the food was incredible.

The Couple Recommends:

I loved all of them!

Ethereal Bridal Inspiration with Badgley Mischka Gowns

June 12, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Ethereal-Bridal-Inspiration-with-Badgley-Mischka-Gowns (34 of 35)

Summer has begun, but I bet you have yet to see any beach wedding inspiration as breathtaking and romantic as this whimsical styled shoot in Marsden Bay, North East England! Jess Petrie Photography and a talented team of professionals collaborated to create an effortlessly beautiful combination of a rocky natural setting and soft, enchanting decor.

Here is some insight about the shoot from Jess of Jess Petrie Photography:

This was a collaborative shoot between some great Northern England wedding suppliers and friends. The concept was dreamy, ethereal and romantic bridal inspiration for Summer brides. We scouted for the perfect location last year! Summer, ethereal and romantic all shouted beach to us! But we didn’t want to shoot on your generic Northern beach, we wanted something a bit more interesting and rocky. It proved quite hard to find a beach in the North which is secluded and rocky, so this place is a little bit of a gem. The gowns used were Badgley Mischka’s new collection from the Harrogate Wedding Lounge. Images were shot on both digital and film. Colour schemes were summer citrus with an earthy mix. The rocks complimented the colours really well.
