Sometimes the most beautiful part of a wedding is the food, and we are loving this vibrant and delicious arrangement by Caprichia Weddings & Occasions and Goyo Catering. This Spanish wedding inspiration shoot focuses on the careful curating that goes into an extraordinary spread of treats, as well as styling the display around them for a cohesive and romantic look. From a tower of cheese to leaning churros, we want a bite of everything!
It only makes sense for a power couple like Janelle and Jonathan to look to another power couple of the past for their wedding inspiration. The black and white wedding at The Veranda at Thornton Park was inspired by Priscilla and Elvis Presley’s wedding circa 1967. The modern update included orchid-lined tables, a pale blue accent color, and a gorgeous outdoor ceremony. The Hons captured each detail and every moment so that the couple can cherish their day for the rest of their lives, and maybe even inspire a wedding or two of their own!
I would say our wedding style was reminiscent of that of Priscilla and Elvis Presley. It was very poised and elegant. Stark whites and rich colors. I was lucky enough to get my dress directly from its designer, Angel Sanchez, in NYC with my best friend Jenny and Mother in tow. It was a vintage inspired look with a crumb catcher, like none I have ever seen before. Jonathan wore a tailored J.Crew shall collar tuxedo which is also very classic and bold. The decor was majestic. Its really the only way to describe it. We were even styled with a full moon that evening that cast a glow over the entire venue.
The Moments:
It would probably be the moment I walked into the ceremony space. It was a pivotal moment for me. I was there holding my father’s hand as I walked in and saw all the faces of everyone I love in one place, all the beautiful work my mother and her friends did to make the space perfect in a way only THEY could, the sound of my brother Danny playing and singing the song that would guide me down the isle, seeing Jonathan at the end of it knowing I was about to begin to enjoy one of the greatest moments of my life.
The Couple Recommends:
Hiring The Hons as our photographers was THE EASIEST and best thing we could have done. Fact. They just get it. They are extremely motivated and passionate about their work. Logically you look for photographers with skill, and let me tell you, SKILL they have, but when you sit down with them you really see how they genuinely care about NOT MISSING ANYTHING.
The day of the wedding, they were there, bright and early, not like before the ceremony early, like 9am early. HOURS before the ceremony. The day before they went to the venue and covered the grounds surrounding and inside the venue. Why? To prepare themselves, to get their lighting, to time themselves, to scout the area for photo opportunities. THAT is the kind of dedication you want.
Congrats to Janelle and Jonathan on their classic wedding in Florida, and thanks to The Hons for sharing the glamorous day! For more black and white wedding inspiration, check out Kendall and Sebastien’s modern glam wedding at Front + Palmer.
For Devon and Michael, deciding to elope in Tuscany was as easy a decision as falling in love; it was completely natural. The elegant, intimate nuptials took place at La Poggiolaia in the Tuscan countryside where the sky didn’t have a cloud in sight. Chiara Sernesi of Weddings in Tuscany went above and beyond in creating the couple’s dream wedding from start to finish, and every inch was captured flawlessly by photographer Francesco Spighi and cinematographer Matteo Castelluccia.
We wanted to elope in a beautiful setting that has a special place in our hearts; Italy was an easy choice. Tuscany is one of the most magical places on Earth and our main inspiration. We wanted a simple, elegant, and low-key wedding with the focus being on our marriage and new life together. The wedding decor was all Chiara, our wedding planner. Everything was better than I could have imagined and exactly my taste without us ever speaking with Chiara in person. She nailed the chic, bohemian vibe I wanted and everything turned out perfectly. Mike wore his go-to tuxedo, by Isaia, and new Allen Edmonds shoes. We only had about 3 months to plan, so I had my dress made in San Francisco by Julie Ireland who made the process so fun and stress-free and made me the perfect dress in limited time!
The Moments:
After the ceremony and photoshoot, we returned to our villa to a beautifully set table for an unforgettable dinner outside on the porch, cooked by a private chef. The best tiramisu I’ve ever tasted stood in as a wedding cake. Just before dinner, we had our first dance outside on the hill with the musician playing “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran on guitar.
Ending the night at a table for two with Italian guitars strumming in the background couldn’t possibly be more romantic. For more impeccable Tuscan wedding inspiration from Chiara Sernesi, be sure to check our Laura and Fran’s disco glamour wedding in Tuscany.
