Wishing to throw a laid-back celebration, Jenni and Kevin chose an outdoor setting with DIY details. The earth-tone green bridesmaids gowns added the perfect frame for the bride’s elegant, off-the-shoulder dress. Completing the earthy look, bales of hay served as seating for the guests, and lush, light pink florals, designed by Zimmerman Events, created the magnificent wedding arch. Following a tradition that promises good luck, the couple uncovered a buried bottle of bourbon post-ceremony. The Inspiration:
Since we had many guests coming from out of state and visiting Arkansas for the first time, we really wanted to showcase all the wonderful features the Natural State has to offer. We chose to get married at Heifer Ranch because not only is it located in Jenni‘s hometown, but both of her parents worked for the Ranch for many years. We didn’t want to take away from the natural surroundings of the ranch venue. We chose mint as our main color to build around and added in some peach, gold and white for accent colors. Overall our décor theme was vintage, country chic with cultural elements interwoven throughout the décor as well. There were a ton of DIY elements to our wedding. Jenni‘s mom and best friend’s mom made the burlap bunting and the ribbon backdrop for our cake table. We had beautiful barn doors custom made by a family friend for our ceremony.
The Moments:
Planning a wedding from out of state was stressful, but seeing all the different elements come together on the day of the wedding was truly amazing. It was wonderful to have all of our family and friends in one place to celebrate our special day. The day went by so quickly it felt like a dream. From the first look, to having the sun come out right before the ceremony and walking down the aisle with my dad, to digging up the bottle of bourbon post ceremony-there were so many favorite moments, it’s difficult to choose just one.
