Kayleigh and Siam are a nature-loving couple, through and through — just take a look at their breathtaking Lake Minnewanka engagement session for proof — so it’s no surprise that the adventurous pair chose a ski resort for their wedding venue. With pastel elements sprinkled throughout the earthy décor, Kayleigh and Siam tied the knot at Skyloft Ski Resort. It may have rained throughout their ceremony, but a little bit of unexpected weather couldn’t deter this romantic celebration. Daring Wanderer Photography took the drizzly skies as an opportunity to capture the most beautifully intimate portraits of the newlyweds indoors.

Standing up at our altar, getting married to my favorite person, was the best moment of the day. I was on the verge of laughing and crying the entire time. I remember looking one way out at the rain and mist in the hills, and than inside to the warmth and love of our family and friends. I felt like I was in a dream land.

Our décor was inspired by and reflected the nature that we love, our adventurous spirits, and the many talents of our family and friends. Even though it wasn’t part of the plan, the rain created a beautiful warm atmosphere that was steeped in the love and happiness of our guests.

Our first dance was also amazing. We had taken a few dance lessons because it was something we always had wanted to do. But with my dress, we were barely able to do any of the choreography. We danced anyway and sang to each other like we were the only people there. Towards the end of our song our wedding party joined in with us, and pretty soon all of our guests were dancing and singing along with us.
