Scottish Wedding at the Boturich Castle + Video

September 9, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

C+N-Wedding-443

Chantel and Niall’s Scottish wedding was the perfect marriage of their favorite things: engineering and springtime in Scotland. CineMate Films and photographer Trendz masterfully documented the day as the two said “I do” in a gorgeous church ceremony before joining their guests for the first time as newlyweds at Boturich Castle. The DIY reception was filled with pastel petals and brightly colored candies, but the highlights of the decor were the handcrafted flower backdrop and the Lego cake by Happy Hill Cakes!

The Couple:

Chantel and Niall

The Wedding:

Boturich Castle, Dunbartonshire, Scotland

The Inspiration:

I would like to think of myself as quite creative so I wanted to make things that people had never seen before. I took inspiration from the many incredible floral displays I have seen online and I really loved the idea of having lots of spring flowers at the wedding (even though I knew it was May in Scotland, I wasn’t going to let the weather ruin the day). I wanted the theme to be spring flowers (with a hint of engineering!) and wanted to do this without blowing our budget. It was also very important to me to keep the wedding sustainable.

The Moments:

Chantel: Seeing Niall at the end of what felt like the longest church aisle in the world, and knowing after 2 years of engagement, the moment was final on us!

Niall: The anticipation in the church, waiting at the front of the aisle, with my best man and seeing all our family and friends around us, waiting for the most perfect woman to arrive.

The Couple Recommends:

Our cake was the talking point of the wedding, a mix of classical wedding elegance and fun construction inspired LEGO, all of which could never have been possible without Emily. Emily was an amazing supplier, working with us from the very first moment we got in contact with her. She helped us realise our vision within the budget we had set and not only met our expectations, but exceeded them spectacularly!

Our photographer (Romain) was tremendous. He involved himself seamlessly into the day and long into the night. He was there to capture all the moments we wanted and his photos are fantastic. He was certainly part of the party and got on very well with all of our guests.

Simon and Gregg of CineMate Films worked on creating a beautiful wedding film without us even realising they were there! It was brilliant to see such a well edited and well produced film, the trailer has been a big hit with all of our guests.

DIY Texas Wedding at The Hoffman Haus

September 9, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

DIY-Texas-Wedding-at-The-Hoffman-Haus-Mercedes-Morgan-Photography (18 of 21)

The Hoffman Haus, a quintessentially Texas venue nestled in the Hill Country, set the stage for Alanna and Noah’s whimsical DIY wedding. Taking the wedding into their own hands — literally! — Alanna and Noah handcrafted each element of their day, from the ceremony huppah to the reception centerpieces. Mercedes Morgan Photography captured the couple saying “I do” beneath hanging parasols and embracing in the golden hour light for the first time as husband and wife.

The Couple:

Alanna and Noah

The Wedding:

The Hoffman Haus, Frericksburg, Texas

The Inspiration:

Rustic meets romance was my inspiration. I wanted the wedding to look timeless and unique, as well as highlight the reasons why we fell in love with our venue, The Hoffman Haus. My color palette was rose pink, silver, hints of sage green and rustic wood colors. We tried to do as many DIY touches as we could. Noah made the huppah and I hand-cut the wine bottles used for the succulents in the centerpieces.

My dress was bought from a bridal salon in Boston and is Amsale Summer — it has hints of romance and glamour, which was the look that I was going for. I wore a mid-length veil and glittery sandals to pull the look together (I didn’t want to be bothered by heels on my big day!). I wore no jewelry because I wanted the dress to shine by itself.

Meera and David put a modern twist on the traditional Indian wedding with chic fusion wedding at The Vineyard at Florence. Meera wore an elegant ivory and gold wedding saree as she said ‘I do” to David, who looked dapper in his black tuxedo, before changing into a dazzling sequin gown for the remainder of the celebration. Joseph West Photography exquisitely captured the sophisticated affair designed by Leave The Details 2 Me, as well as the candid moments that the newlyweds will forever remember.

The Couple:

Meera and David

The Wedding:

The Moments:

There were so many phenomenal moments at our wedding, but I think one of the most memorable was walking in to the reception as husband and wife. It was the first time that we had seen what our wedding planner had done with the space, and needless to say, it was STUNNING. Moreover, it was profoundly moving to see all of the people we loved in one room together.

The Couple Recommends:

Shelley and her entire team at Leave the Details 2 Me were phenomenal. Since David and I live in New York, it was imperative that we had a team on the ground to take care of every detail. LTD2M did not disappoint. Our rehearsal dinner and wedding day were flawless, and we owe it all to Shelley!

Also, I’m convinced that Joe West is the best wedding photographer in the business. I have never seen such beautiful wedding photos. My husband and I are in love with every picture he took. We highly recommend his services.

Event Planning – Leave The Details 2 Me
Venue – The Vineyard at Florence
Floral Design – Flora Fetish
