Marie-Claire and Connor’s garden-inspired wedding at Clonwilliam House was understated and elegant, highlighting the beauty of the Irish venue. Everyone dressed to the nines for the affair, including the bride in her lace-sleeved Temperley London gown. After saying “I do” at St. Kevin’s Church, the newlyweds drove off in a little red convertible where Chris Copeland Photography captured stunningly joyous moments shared between them.

A very special moment that really stands out for us both was just after our ceremony when we drove away in a vintage, convertible MG Roadster, driven by Connor. It was so lovely to have that time alone as a newly married couple and it was so exciting being waved off by our guests and driving away from the Church together towards the venue, complete with the sun shining through the tree-canaped road…it really was the dream!
Whilst we aimed to keep the decor to a minimum so as not to take away from the natural beauty of the venue, we drew inspiration from the stunning backdrop of the ‘Garden of Ireland,’ Wicklow and with it being a favourite of ours, green was the colour of the day, from the invitations to the cake and the groomsmen’s ties. We styled the tables with wild and natural arrangements, using lots of ivy, white flowers and green foliage together with large wooden distressed style candle sticks. The barn was full of hessian bunting and the ceiling adorned with thousands of fairy lights. We really wanted to add some touches that would be personal to us and our guests, who had all travelled from Northern Ireland and further afield to celebrate with us. We secretly collected a wedding photo of all our married guests in the weeks before the wedding and displayed them in a huge wooden frame in the barn, surrounded by photos of us as children with our families and photos of us together and with our guests over the past ten years.
