The juxtaposition between Spanish colonial architecture and lush tropical greenery makes Antigua a contender for the next big wedding destination. As if we had any doubts, this styled elopement shoot by Sean Carr Photography and Diane of I Do, Guatemala makes a strong case for throwing an Antigua wedding immediately. A team of Guatemala’s talented professionals designed this utterly romantic scene in Hotel Convento Santa Clara, highlighting the existing beauty of the venue with chandeliers, pale roses, and gold accents.
While Brandon may have known he was going to marry Svetlana the night he met her, we doubt either of them could imagine how incredibly beautiful their Lynch Park wedding would be! The ultra-glam event was inspired by The Great Gatsby, and included luxe gold elements paired with soft pink accents. The couple came dressed to the nines in custom fashions on their wedding day, Brandon in a white dinner jacket and black tuxedo pants, and Svetlana in two insanely gorgeous gowns, both with beautifully long trains trailing behind.
As the bride, I was lucky to wear two custom-made gorgeous dresses, one for the ceremony and one for the reception. My husband wore a custom-made white dinner jacket with black tuxedo pants.
We loved the romantic, classic, “Gatsby” look and feel. Our venue was absolutely incredible and the white mansion, with antique gold details, chandeliers, and old school charm was exactly what we were looking for. We wanted our colors to match with that theme, so we picked whites, golds, silvers, and soft blush.
It’s all about you and your love! Don’t get too caught up in the details, because even though they are important, nothing is as important as the reason that you are getting married in the first place – because you love each other and want to spend forever together. And if you plan on having a wedding (big or small), make sure to spend the whole day/night together so you can share the same memories of your big day.
Erin and Mark’s enchanted forest wedding was like something out of a fairy tale thanks to the natural beauty of Evergreen Lake House. The Colorado venue provided a waterfront ceremony spot, an epic backdrop of mountains, and plenty of rustic charm. Photographers Mallory + Justin beautifully captured the couple’s sweet moments and all of the DIY details that went into making Erin and Mark’s big day completely their own.
Evergreen Lake House was the quintessential Colorado lodge, on a beautiful lake. Also, this was the first city I visited while seeing Colorado for the first time and I remember the lake house just knocking the wind out of me. Our theme was “Enchanted Forest,” and, as you can see from our photos, the venue kind of decorated itself.
I just wanted to be comfortable because I knew it was going to be a really long day, but of course I also wanted to feel beautiful. My dress was this flowy, feminine gown, with lace and beaded details, I just loved it.
The best moment for me was hearing the first notes of our ceremony music as I rounded the corner to see Mark at the end of the aisle.
The groomsmen all looked like Prince Charming; we kept it really simple for them, a tweed vest that they could own, and a pair of dark khaki Levi’s so they would be comfortable and could wear the look again to another wedding without looking like a previous groomsmen. The bridesmaids were just given a color and free reign on whatever they wanted; gold, bronze, silver, any sort of shimmery metallic would work with the theme. I gave the girls a gold and amber acorn necklace, and they all wanted to wear it for the ceremony!
We DIYed everything! My father-in-law sliced some wood from his backyard for the centerpieces, I glued individual candlesticks to them, and covered the rest with moss. My mother-in-law did a lot of the decorations, including everything on the mantel, the groomsmens’ boutonnieres, mother corsages, bouquet holders with little twinkle lights inside, and so much more!
