California Countryside Wedding at Hidden Villa

When Adrienne and Geoff were planning their wedding, they tried not to take the details too seriously. They wanted to plan a day that was low-key and that felt like a big dinner party. With the help of an amazing wedding planner, Colleen Gregory, and a local and organic caterer, Feel Good Foods, they were able to do just that. They also wanted a venue that had beautiful scenery that they had a connection with, and Hidden Villa was perfect because Adrienne went to farm camp there as a child. Photographer Alexandra Wallace captured all the sweet moments from Adrienne and Geoff’s big day, from their first look to the reflection time they had with one another after the ceremony.

The Couple:

We wanted somewhere with beautiful scenery and that had a connection to us. As a child Adrienne actually went to farm camp at Hidden Villa. We also loved that the flowers for the wedding could come right from the farm.

I wanted a dress I felt like myself in. Something that was comfortable and beautiful at the same time. I actually bought a dress from BHLDN and returned it because I saw my dress on a wedding blog. I found a location in San Francisco and went to try it on and was totally smitten.

My great uncle is a ship captain so we asked him to be the officiant. The three of us worked together to come up with a ceremony that felt perfect for Geoff & me.

Taking some time to ourselves after the ceremony to reflect for a few minutes with each other was the most memorable part of the day. We took about 10 minutes right after the ceremony to have a glass of champagne and really enjoy how amazing the whole day was turning out to be.

The food was definitely the most important part of our wedding. Local and organic food is really important to us as a couple so we wanted to find a caterer who focused on that. We also really wanted it to feel like a huge dinner party with everyone we cared about. We had 3 long tables set up in a horseshoe and dinner was served family style so there was lots of passing and sharing. We honestly couldn’t have asked for better food. People are still talking about it.

With the help of our wedding coordinator Colleen and family members we DIYed most of the wedding decor. We didn’t have a DJ for the dancing. We put together a Spotify playlist and had one of our friends make sure it was started at the right time.

Shabby Chic Florida Wedding at Barrington Hill Farm

Located just north of Tampa, Barrington Hill Farm was the perfect place for Brandy and William to have their Florida wedding. The estate is surrounded by lush, beautiful grounds, which made for a memorable backdrop for all of Brandy and William’s friends and family. Genya of Vue Photography captured every moment from the shabby chic wedding, starting at the couple’s teary eyed first look and ending with a send-off underneath a sky full of fireworks.

The most memorable part of the day was definitely the first look. All of the anticipation and excitement that built up over the 2 years we spent planning our wedding peaked as I walked down the stairs of the bed and breakfast toward my soon-to-be husband and placed my hands over his eyes. The tears in his eyes and adorable look on his face once he turned around made all of the planning worth it.

One point of comic relief during the ceremony was when our officiant, my friend Leanne, realized that she left the rings in her purse. Her friend Darren tiptoed down the aisle with the rings in utter humiliation. We all laughed, and it gave me a chance to catch my breath, steady my nerves and enjoy the moment.

Working with Genya O’Neall of Vue Photography was an absolute dream! I feel like I would have truly been lost without her that day. Anytime I began to feel stressed about the timeline or something that didn’t go according to plan, Genya was there with the perfect words and upbeat attitude to get me right past it. I also never felt posed or uncomfortable in front of her lens and could NOT be happier with the way our photos turned out.

The most important thing was making sure our guests enjoyed themselves. We spent a lot of time thinking about little details that would make our guests happy like silk fans at the outdoor ceremony site, music that would appeal to everyone, a menu of comfort food and of course, the specialty bourbon bar and our homemade infused whiskey favors.

Steamy Island Engagement Photos in Makena, HI

April 22, 2016 | editorial team

Steamy-Island-Engagement-Photos-Makena-HI-30

Sparks sure are flying between Stephanie and Dominique in their island engagement photos. The way these two ladies interact with one another is pure and natural, and Naomi Levit Photography captured every tender and passionate embrace. The view of the setting sun from Makena Beach was jawdropping, and the rest of Maui also has some breathtaking views, but it was the raw and organic love Stephanie and Dominique so obviously share for each other that truly took our breath away.
