When Stephanie and Steven decided to have an epic outdoor engagement session, they knew two things right off the bat: it had to be shot near Moraine Lake in Banff, Alberta, and Alex Lasota Photography has to shoot it. Nestled in a Canadian stretch of the Rocky Mountains, Banff is known for its crystal clear blue lakes and seriously romantic backdrops. We love how Stephanie and Steven rocked several incredibly stylish outfits, including one of our favorite e-sesh trends: a bright red dress!
Unless you have an extensive furniture and decor collection of your own, bringing your wedding design to life can be quite the feat. From what to put on the tables to the tables themselves, many couples are faced with finding each and every piece that will come together to create their wedding. Enter Rentivist, the online platform revolutionizing and simplifying the event rental process.
Rentivist‘s founders are passionate about making the world a more stylish place, one rentable at a time. The company’s co-founders know a thing or two about impeccable design: Alyson Newquist is an event designer and venue owner and Gretchen Culver is an established planner cited as one of the top wedding planners by Martha Stewart Weddings. Mary Ellen Reihsen serves as in-house counsel for Rentivist while also representing dozens of wedding and event businesses.
So how does Rentivist work? The platform is two-fold; with the ability to both list and rent items, Rentivist brings together two groups of people who share a common goal. Rentivist ultimately serves as a solution for people with things to rent, as well as for people looking to rent things!
With rentals listed from all over the country, couples with a specific item in mind are able to find and rent the piece that pulls their whole wedding design together. Using the filtering feature, couples can search by style, color, category, and more to track down exactly what they’re looking for.
Because we couldn’t help but search through Rentivist‘s inventory ourselves, we’ve put together a few of our favorite pieces listed on the site to help you create your own wedding style for your big day.

Maura and Paddy’s Irish wedding was full of gorgeous florals and stunning bridal style! Maura’s Rime Arodaky flowing tulle gown had contemporary lace cut-outs that balanced her timelessly romantic flower crown. From the pew markers to the huge flower wall at Deanes at Queens, we love how every inch of this Ireland wedding was decked out in showstopping botanicals. Chris Copeland Photography captured the couple’s special day beautifully, including amazing shots of the sophisticated reception hall décor!
We wanted a relaxed day with all our friends and family, making sure we had time to spend with everyone. We didn’t want to be away from all the fun for the photos which Chris our photographer managed perfectly. We ended up with a fabulous party, great music, a packed dancefloor and enough happy memories to last a lifetime.
I really enjoyed the whole process of finding the dress, it was such a fab excuse to have lovely days out with my mum & bridesmaids. I loved the elegance of my Rime Arodaky dress and the silhouette created by the flowing tulle fabric. The lace appliqued detail really made the dress.
I knew I wanted a flower crown – probably inspired by the fact that I loved wearing one so much on my first holy communion day! Every girl should get to wear a flower crown, I never wanted to take it off – it was just so beautiful.
From Paddy: There are so many favorite moments. From being at the church to greet everyone, to Maura walking up the aisle, to the evening when all formalities were done and the last order of the day was to party! The dance floor was packed from the minute our first dance ended.
I always envisioned my wedding day being full of beautiful flowers and thankfully Janet from the flower room made this come true. Walking into the church and seeing our church filled with the most incredible flowers was really a wow moment!
From Maura: I absolutely loved the whole day. I’ll always remember that feeling I had when walking up the aisle with my dad, I was just so excited to be seeing all our friends & family and of course Paddy. It is really so lovely to see everyone that you love so happy for us both.
Deanes at Queens was the only place we looked at and we absolutely loved it- the food, the light, the space – it was perfect! We were able to have the most relaxed day as the staff looked after every little detail. The food was incredible, the service impeccable and the mojitos seemed never ending!
All it took was a coffee with Chris for him to understand the sort of couple we are and what sort of vibe we had planned for the wedding day. He was able to fade into the background snapping away the magic of the day but always at hand if we wanted a particular shot. We loved that he was able to capture the emotion of the day. His photos allow us to relive the memories and feelings of the day, so we will always be able to remember how we felt on the day.
