Naturally Stunning Texas Wedding at The Greenhouse at Driftwood

February 22, 2018 | colleen

With pops of orange and blush, Lexi and Lee’s wedding at The Greenhouse at Driftwood was as dreamy as ever. Lexi’s overgrown and organic bridal bouquet by Color Theory Collective set the tone for the rest of the wedding and carried into the ceremony space. The tables were lined with greenery table runners and wildflower-inspired blooms that added a touch of whimsy to the day’s overall vibe. We’re always fans of mismatched dresses, and Lexi’s maids in blush and floral dresses were no exception! It’s clear that Lexi and Lee’s decision on a warm color palette paired so well with the all the green tones in the greenhouse. Kindred Wedding Storytellers took the newlyweds for couple portraits around the venue and the resulting images couldn’t be more perfect.

The Wedding:

The Greenhouse at Driftwood, Driftwood, Texas

It was important that our day was a thoughtful and honest reflection of us and our ten plus years together. We wanted our family and friends to feel, without a doubt, that they were at “our” wedding.

I wanted to look and feel like myself, wild curls and all.

Work with vendors you genuinely like and can connect to! We were cost conscious, but at the end of the day, we wanted a team of people that we both admired and trusted. Our litmus test seemed to be, “Would we grab a beer with him/her?”

Both of our Dad’s passed in the time we’ve been together. Coincidently, they both had old cowboy hats that each would exclusively wear when shoveling snow. (We’re both from outside Philadelphia.) We placed the hats on the end of each aisle where they would have sat.

A large number of our decorations stemmed from home projects. But none were quite as special as the several glass terrarium’s put together by my (Lexi) Mom. Each depicted a small scenery of us taking part in a favorite activity, such as hiking, skiing, kayaking, etc.

Our first dance was to “Baby” by Donnie and Joe Emerson.

The most memorable moments were the few minutes we had to simply look around, absorb the beauty of the day and the many people we are grateful to have in our lives. (AND personally, Lee‘s heart melting performance of Al Green, “Let’s Stay Together.”)
