Tracy and Brad had a clear vision when it came to their Kauaʻi elopement: ethereal and stylish without breaking the bank or taking the focus off of their love. With the help of their wedding planners at Modern Elopement and the gorgeous Na ‘Aina Kai Botanical Gardens, every dream wedding checkbox was marked! The bride and groom took a whiskey shot during their first look, which now tops our list of new favorite wedding traditions. Na ‘Aina Kai Botanical Gardens, Kauaʻi, Hawaii

The most memorable moment was the first instant we saw each other. Getting married is very emotional and overwhelming, but once we saw each other all of the anxiety melted away. We did a first look where we took a shot of this amazingly tasty whiskey Brad found. The plan is to take a drink every anniversary.

I would advise couples to get a wedding planner. Do it, they are worth every darn penny. At the least get a planner for the day of. We wanted to spend our wedding day soaking up every moment, not wondering where the florist was, etc.

We wanted an intimate wedding that didn’t break the bank, while at the same time not sacrificing style. Our Kauai elopement checked all of those boxes.

We choose Na ‘Aina Kai Botanical Gardens as our location because we wanted to get married amongst the trees. It felt like we were in an enchanted forest.

The day of I wanted a romantic, ethereal look. Hair down with a side swept half up braid, bright red lips, head piece and flowy eyelash lace dress completed that look. I wanted to wear a crown since it is one of the only times in life that it is socially acceptable.

Our photographer June was amazing. She made us feel beautiful and created a relaxed/fun atmosphere. A good photographer is maybe the most important aspect of a wedding as it captures memories that might have been forgotten.
