Burgundy Boho Salvage One Wedding in Chicago

April 13, 2018 | juliette

We’re bringing you a little boho style, a little vintage flair, and a whole lot of sophisticated elegance with Monique and Anthony’s Salvage One wedding in downtown Chicago. The bride, who planned the entire event, was the picture of boho-glam in a stunning long-sleeve lace Ines Di Santo gown and delicate flower crown that featured pops of burgundy, peach, and white flowers. Splendor of Eden took those same flowers and created spectacular cascading bouquets, installations, and a ceremony backdrop that perfectly fit the moody, vintage vibe of the warehouse venue. Because the couple are vintage collectors as well as foodies, they laid antique rugs down the ceremony aisle, served a classic Puerto Rican feast, and served dinner on antique china. Monique and Anthony nailed every single detail, and we couldn’t be more excited that Junebug member Studio 29 Photography + Design was there to capture it all!

The Couple:

Monique and Anthony

The Wedding:

Salvage One, Chicago, Illinois

We wanted our wedding to feel romantic, ethereal, bohemian and vintage all at once because that captures the love my husband and I have for one another — we’re two old souls. The colors and details of our day captured who we are as a couple perfectly.

For my bridal look, I wanted something romantic and vintage, with a touch of bohemian. The dress was the first one I tried on. It was classic but still one-of-a-kind and unique. I love that it had sleeves for the colder weather! I picked out simple earrings to allow the dress and flowers to speak for themselves. I also did a darker smokey brown eye with a bold lip to bring out my flowers.

We served a custom hispanic family-style menu and our guests loved it! The food was incredibly important because I’m a food blogger, and we wanted it to reflect my family’s Puerto Rican heritage. It was the most amazing wedding food anyone had!
