Erica and Brendan’s Atlanta, Georgia wedding has my heart! From the vintage postage stamps on the invitations, Erica’s blush pink dress by Anna Maier Ulla-Maija Couture, and the elegant calligraphy by Moya Mimms of MM Ink, the day was refined and oh-so-lovely. Vue Photography captured all the pretty details along with the warmth and emotion of the candle-lit, champagne-flowing reception.
The Couple: Erica and Brendan
The Wedding: 5.11.13 – Atlanta Botanical Garden, Atlanta, GA
The Goals: Our main priorities were that we wanted to make the event as intimate as possible. We also love great food and wine, so we wanted to give our guests a truly wonderful dining experience.
The Design: We wanted our wedding to feel elegant, classic and sophisticated. We also wanted the event to feel well-planned, thoughtful, and tied together from start to finish. Therefore, we tried to incorporate common themes and motifs throughout all the details of the wedding. As just one example, the flowers on my wedding dress matched the flowers on our invitations and resembled the centerpieces and flowers on the cake. Similarly, we used the same calligrapher (the incredible Moya Mimms) for all the wedding papers – the invitations, programs, table cards and all other wedding day signage. Those little details gave the wedding a cohesive and elegant feel.
The Moments: My favorite part of the day was our wedding ceremony, and specifically, when my husband said his vows.
The Look: I absolutely loved my wedding dress. I wore the Aimee by Anna Maier Ulla-Maija Couture. Although I adored the detailed lace work on the dress, my favorite part about the dress was the color. From a distance, the dress appeared to be stunning ivory lace gown; up close, however, you could see that the satin underlay of the dress was a pale, pale blush. The color was so beautiful, subtle and feminine — perfect for an evening spring wedding in a rose garden. My bridesmaids wore beautiful Jenny Yoo gowns. Each girl wore a different dress, although the color palate was light gray.
The Advice: My advice to brides planning their wedding is to enjoy the process! Find ways to involve your soon-to-be spouse, friends and family in the planning. It will make the planning more fun and will enable you to create wonderful memories leading up to your big day.
Erica and Brendan, thank you for sharing your day with us! A huge congrats to the wedding team for creating such a beautiful event. To see more Southern weddings, visit Vue Photography’s blog.
