Karen and James describe the inspiration for their wedding at The Hideout in Kirkwood, CA as “Bohemia in the woods,” and with elements like a ceremony arch adorned with dream catchers, a fresh crown of flowers and plenty of greenery, and a wedding cake designed to imitate tree bark, it’s easy to see they achieved their vision. Kate Whelan Events made sure that every inch of the wedding reflected the couple’s dream, while Sarah Maren Photography captured both the curated details and unexpected moments. A little rain (and even hail!) didn’t stop Karen and James from saying “I do,” and their wedding day couldn’t have been more perfect.
The Couple:
Karen and James
The Wedding:
The Hideout, Kirkwood, CA
The Inspiration: Bohemia in the woods.
The Moment: I didn’t think so at the time, but now I’ll say when it started storming…raining, thunder, lightning, hail 15 minutes before our ceremony. But when it passed it made everything that much more beautiful and special.
The Recommendation: My wedding planner, Kate Whelan was incredible. The wedding would not of happened without her and she did a beautiful job of bringing my vision to life. I cannot recommend her enough, she’s amazing!
