This Couple Decked Out Their Family Farm for Their Charming Texas Wedding

Katy and Trevor’s true Texas wedding took place on the bride’s family farm, a place of significance for all in attendance and a long time dream of the loving couple. The beautiful rolling hills, golden fields and green pastures were the perfect setting for an outdoor ceremony and gorgeously decorated marquee reception for dinner and dancing. Gypsy Floral completely decked out the ranch, draped from top to bottom in fresh flowers and created the elegant, rustic vibe that carried on throughout the day. Festoon lights, hanging greenery and vintage rentals made the Sperry tent and sailcloth canopies warm and inviting to ensure the unpredictable Texas weather wouldn’t spoil any of their perfectly curated day. Grant Daniels Photography captured the couple, their love for each other, their families and everyone around them beautifully.

The Couple:

Katy and Trevor

The Wedding:

Pleasant Hill Farm, Brenham, Texas

The most important thing for us was having our personalities, our stories, and our families shine throughout our wedding day. We wanted every detail of our wedding to be intentional and carry meaning with it.

We chose the venue because our farm is a special place for both families, and we have so much history there. We chose our catering as a nod to my Texas roots. We asked Trevor‘s dad to marry us, as we both have close relationships with him Every single detail was well-thought and intentionally planned to celebrate our story.

My dream has always been to get married on our family farm in Brenham, a special place filled with childhood memories of fun and laughter. I took Trevor to our farm the first time he came to visit me in Texas, and he immediately fell in love with the beautiful rolling hills and green pastures.

The most memorable part of the day was our ceremony. We spent a lot of time planning out every detail of our ceremony with Trevor‘s dad, our officiant. Trevor and I wrote our own vows and read them to each other for the first time during our ceremony. We got to sing our favorite hymns that had also been played in our parents’ andgrandparents’ wedding ceremonies. It was a beautiful, moving, and joyful celebration.

The best advice I can give is to relax and have fun on your wedding day. Celebrate that you get to marry the love of your life and spend the rest of your lives together!

We both knew it was the perfect place for our wedding. Since summers in Texas are hot and sometimes rainy, we decided that an outdoor reception might be too risky. A Sperry tent was perfect for dinner and dancing after the outdoor ceremony: the tall wooden posts, sailcloth canopies and bistro lighting were perfect for the elegant, rustic vibe we wanted.
