Piper and Wilbur’s airy and bright White Orchid at Oasis wedding was just the inspiration we needed to kick off summer wedding season! The bride, her mom, and all of their friends and family DIYed nearly every element of this beautiful wedding, from the flowers to the decorations to the dessert bar. You could really feel the couple’s laid-back personalities come through in every detail, including in the bride’s chic Rime Arodaky crop top and skirt ensemble. Catherine Coons Photography captured the natural beauty of this wedding perfectly, especially the light-hearted and playful couple portraits near the Caloosahatchee River.

I began the search for my wedding dress with an idea in my mind (and a Pinterest board full of ideas). Ultimately, I found the dress I loved when I let go of those ideas! I walked into LOHO Bride in LA and asked my stylist to pick her favorites. They have such a unique collection, I ended up in the complete opposite of what I had imagined, and loved every second of it! The dress, like our decor was simple yet commanded attention.

Wil and I both grew up on the Caloosahatchee River, and loved the though of getting married there. He actually proposed on the river, so it definitely hold some significance for us. We love the White Orchid because it was a blank canvas, and afforded us the opportunity to be creative!

Our photographer, Catherine Coons, was absolutely incredible! We actually met for the first time on the day of our wedding, and I had no doubts. She is full of laughter and love, and was so encouraging throughout the day. I honestly wish I was getting married again just to work with her.

Wedding planning can be daunting, but remember what you’re there for. My mom and I ultimately planned the wedding from start to finish, and employed the help of many friends and family. (THANK YOU!) My mom planned everything from the flowers, the tables, and all of the auxiliary decor. We had a dessert bar with desserts made by 10 different family friends. The morning of the event, we were flooded with friends and family helping with everything from flower arrangements to literally building the doors we walked through for the ceremony. My godparents own a plant nursery, and filled the tent, house, and ceremony area with beautiful potted plants. The help was endless! We are so blessed!
