Rustic DIY Sodo Park Wedding in Seattle, WA

September 30, 2017 | emy

Ngoc and Ron’s Sodo Park wedding in an urban loft in downtown Seattle blended rustic details with modern day elegance. The vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, and reclaimed lighting combined with artistic DIY accents from the centerpieces to the floral designs created a romantic, natural feel with bohemian and rustic vibes that were beautifully captured by In Frames Photography. The groom, an artist and graphic designer, created the invitations and wedding favors, adding a fully customized touch to the entire day. We love how the bride’s stunning bohemian off-the-shoulder flutter sleeve wedding gown by Daughter of Simone carried beautifully from their casual park ceremony full of greenery to the rustic-industrial reception.

Ngoc and Ron

The Wedding:

Soho Park, Seattle, Washington

The most important thing for us while planning our wedding was to stay true to who we are, and not get carried away with all the extras that were not that important. We knew we wanted a beautiful laid back wedding, surrounded by our close friends and family, and thats what we focused on.

The most memorable part of our day was our wedding ceremony and first look. It was full of emotion, happy tears, and laughter. Our first look was definitely a favorite memory. Morgan was able to capture our raw emotion and reaction so perfectly. We could just look back at those photos any given time and remember exactly how we felt at that exact moment. It was nothing short of a dream.

My main advice to couples is to not stress too much and just enjoy the process. There will always be something that doesn’t go exactly as planned, but you’ve just got to remind yourself the real reason why you’re here. You are lucky enough to have found the one human you can’t live without and that is the most beautiful thing!

We wanted our wedding vibe to really reflect our style, who we are, and our love. We aren’t the glitz and glam type, so the overall theme we went for was romantic, natural, with a touch of boho and a rustic feel.

My talented husband is an artist and thankfully is great with graphic design as well, so he completely designed and made our wedding invitations. My mom did all the floral arrangements at the reception. Everything at our wedding ceremony and reception tables were made, designed, and put together by us and the help from our bridal party and family. We also made our own wedding favors for our guest. It was a lot of work, but we had fun doing it, and got to add our custom touch to it all.
