Having your wedding in the destination of your dreams can mean not only a beautiful venue, but the most breathtaking views of the surrounding city. Melisa and Chris were inspired by the city of Lima for their Peruvian museum wedding. The city made for the most stunning backdrop as the couple embraced for the first time as newlyweds. Brandon Wong Photography captured the most artistic and intriguing images throughout the day, from the traditional ceremony to the party of the century.
The Couple: Melisa and Chris
The Wedding: Musea de Arte de Lima, Lima, Peru
The Inspiration: “The city of Lima was the main inspiration for the wedding. Lima is known for its colonial architecture, rich history and delicious food. The Museum of Art of Lima is one of the most well preserved colonial buildings and we were lucky enough to have hour wedding there. During our wedding, the museum was decorated to enhance its beauty. The menu was created with traditional limeñan dishes. Overall, we wanted to create an atmosphere that was elegant and fun.”
The Moments: ““La hora loca”, a limeñan wedding tradition, is an explosion of fun, fantasy and entertainment. It starts with confetti falling from the sky. Guests dress up with different props and dance with folkloric Peruvian characters such as Inkas, stilt walkers and guinea pig mascots. It is an hour of non-stop dancing and craziness. Words can’t fully capture the moment.”
The Couple Recommends: “Brandon and Katrina Wong. They not only took beautiful photographs, but also were loved by our families and have become good friends.”
