Beauty Boosters

August 17, 2007 | editorial team

Looking for a little help getting that wedding day glow? These much talked about products might be for you. I’ve been reading about them all over town and can’t wait to try them myself!

Radical Departure by Ava MD is a four product fourteen day regimen that helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while encouraging cell turnover, firmness, tone and clarity. With a tag line like “Two Weeks to Great Skin” it sounds hard to go wrong! If it works for you, it could be a great system to use during the two weeks leading up to the big day.

Jan Marini Age Intervention Eyelash Conditioner seems to get nothing but rave reviews in the press and by customers alike. (Check out the 50 or so happy customers reviews on SkinStore.com) It’s meant to improve your lashes’ volume, texture, flexibility and density and prevent new virgin hair from being damaged by cosmetic and environmental factors. It’s got a hefty price tag, but one tube is meant to last six months, and right now SkinStore.com is giving away a free ATOPALM Head to Toe Duo with any purchase of $75 or more through September 4, 2007. Thick lashes and a gift with purchase; two of my favorite things!

Wedding Bouquet Centerpieces

August 15, 2007 | editorial team

Flowers, and especially the bridal bouquet, are such a beautiful, traditional and iconic part of a wedding. Just like a veil, a bouquet can instantly transform a woman into a bride. Once the ceremony is over, the photographs have been taken and the dinner, dancing and fun have begun, what to do with the bouquet is a question that always seems to come up. One solution that’s a sure fire winner is to use the bridal party bouquets as table centerpieces. I love these elegant ways of showcasing the bouquets in vases or on cake stands. The flowers are lifted off the table and protected, you get extra use out of the most beautiful flowers of the day, and the look is simply stunning!

A Love Letter to Pink and Red

August 13, 2007 | editorial team

Pink and red. It’s a combination that makes my heart swell and my eyes oh-so-happy. I have flirtations and infatuations with other color pairings, but pink and red is always the duo I come back to when asked what my favorite combination really is. It’s the official color palette of homemade valentines. It’s sweetness personified. Its simplicity never fails to sweep me off my feet.
