Cambodian Silk Wedding Accessories from The White Aisle

November 28, 2007 | editorial team

In the midst of the checklists, party favors, color schemes, flowers and fun of wedding planning, sometimes it’s hard to remember that not everyone is as lucky as we are. Rebecca and Dade Sokoloff, owners of the on-line store The White Aisle, have developed a wonderful way for us all to participate in helping those in need while still planning the event of a lifetime. While traveling in Cambodia, Rebecca and Dade came face to face with the reality of life for many young women, sold and trapped as sex trade workers. As a result, they joined forces with a day center in Phnom Penh to open a vocational sewing center. There the girls can learn skills, earn a living and have the opportunity to escape their current situations by using local silks to make wedding related items. 100% of the profits from the sale of these handmade items go directly back to the young women and girls who made them, and they are absolutely beautiful! Visit The White Aisle to see the gorgeous silk sashes, ring pillows and flowers available now, and visit Rebecca and Dade’s personal travel blog to read more about life in Cambodia. Bravo to The White Aisle for using their creativity and caring to help those in need!

A man in a perfectly tailored suit is a sight to see- sophisticated, confident and oh-so-handsome, which is just the way he ought to feel on his wedding day. Knowing where to start to find that perfectly tailored suit isn’t always easy, but Seattle area grooms have a secret weapon in getting it right. He is haberdasher and men’s wear expert Jeff Collins of MyHaberdasher.com, and he knows his stuff! I recently had the pleasure of meeting Jeff and learning about his unique services, which I think are fabulous! Jeff works on location, so he can visit you and each of your groomsmen at home or at the office (or even long distance for out of town friends) for quick and easy consultations and fittings. He offers a near infinite variety of fabrics and custom suit and tux options to choose from and his customer service goes above and beyond. Check out his website to learn about all of his fashion services, and give him a call for a wedding day suit you know you’ll love!
