Spring Wedding Shoe Extravaganza!

March 7, 2008 | editorial team

After watching the trailer for the upcoming Sex and the City movie about, oh, a zillion times (I’m so excited!!! Will Carrie and Mr. Big really get married?) my sister sent me a link to a behind the scenes look at the movie’s wardrobe department and costume design by Patricia Fields. Heaven! Now all I can think about are shoes, bags, dresses, and more shoes. So in true Carrie Bradshaw style, I’ve compiled some seriously fashionista-worthy spring shoes, perfect to punch up your wedding day fashion.

Soft and creamy white, beige and metallic shoes are hitting the stores this spring, and will add glamour to any kind of wedding look. I adore all the high ankle straps, and the over the top sparkle of the sequins covered Christian Louboutin peep toe pumps!

Top row left to right:
Moschino Cheap & Chic woven sandal with bow from Nordstrom.com
Pedro Garcia Amira sandal in light beige from Posh on Main
Loeffler Randall Gillian metallic dip sided pump from ShopBop.com

Middle row left to right:
Anya Hindmarch silver linen jeweled Taylor flat from Posh on Main
Christian Louboutin Very Prive paillette platforms from Net-a-Porter.com
Pedro Garcia gold glitter Noa pump from Posh on Main

Bottom row:
Courtney Crawford white one band sandal in white
from ShopBop.com
Lanvin open toe Escarpin pump in beige satin from Posh on Main (also pictured in the lovely photo at top of the post)
Giuseppe Zanotti Knot Sandal in soft metallic gold from ShopBop.com

Bold designs and rich, bright colors are also a trend I love for a gorgeous wedding shoe look. What fun to see these peeking out from under your wedding dress!

Top row left to right:
Giuseppe Zanotti Folded Multi Satin Sandal in purple from ShopBop.com
Ash Passion Open Toe Platform Pump in eggplant from ShopBop.com

Bottom row:
Christian Louboutin black satin Anemone stilettos from Net-a-Porter.com
Pedro Garcia Elora satin platform sandal in citronelle from ShopBop.com

And a special treat for Seattle area shoe-a-holics, Bellevue’s best shoe boutique Posh on Main is turning 2 years old this weekend and celebrating by giving customers 20% off their entire purchase, plus yummy POSHtinis and chocolates, and the launch of the Diane von Furstenburg spring shoe collection from 12-4 on Saturday. While you’re in the neighborhood, run around the corner and help Rachael and her team at the beautiful La Ree Boutique celebrate their 1st anniversary too! They’ll have 20% off discounts, champage and a Jada Designs Jewelry trunk show for you to ooh and ahh over and get your weekend started off right. See you there!

Looking for wedding favors, decorative packaging, gifts for your wedding party, and wedding decor? Of course you are, you’re wedding planning! For lovely products galore check out Estilo Weddings, a fantastic online shop that I’m so excited to have learned about. Started by a former bride, this store carries all kinds of unique and high quality wedding supplies. I personally love their capiz shell mini tealight holders, filigree cupcake wrappers, favor boxes, and personalized paper embossers (I’ve got to get one of those!) For fun inspiration you can search their products by style in their “get inspired” section- modern, classic, global or organic, or look specifically at their many green wedding options for your eco-chic affair. Have fun!

Recipe Wedding Favors, Cards and Coasters

March 2, 2008 | editorial team

Being a giant fan of food, I absolutely love wedding favors that include recipes for guests to take home. These letterpress coasters from Bella Figura Artisan Letterpress are made of thick, sturdy paper stock and the colors and designs are gorgeous. A fun, bright pink Raspberry Margarita recipe goes perfectly with a Cinco de Mayo wedding, and the classic recipes for Pimm’s Cup and Tennessee Tea are filled with southern charm. All of Bella Figura’s letterpress wedding designs are simply stunning, and their website is full of wedding inspiration! Check them out!

At a recent Eastern Washington wedding photographed by La Vie Photography, the bride’s Grandmother’s famous carrot cake cupcakes were served with sweetly designed recipe cards honoring the much beloved family member. Adorable!

Here are two great ideas from MarthaStewart.com. From a southern wedding that served traditional shrimp and grits during dinner, guests took home a bag of grits with a recipe wrapped around the outside. For a garden wedding or post-wedding brunch, give guests a bundle of fresh herbs with a favorite recipe attached that includes the herbs in the bunch.
