Real Weddings- Kristi and Dale

March 13, 2008 | editorial team

Ok, how darling is this sweet couple? Kristi and Dale couldn’t have been happier with their family filled wedding last September at the Bastyr University Chapel and Seattle’s famous Columbia Tower Club. In these gorgeous photos by Yours by John Photography they simply radiate joy, and so does their bright color palette or fuchsia, red and chartreuse.

To bring playful energy to a classic, elegant wedding, bright colors do the trick! Add little accents here and there like Kristi and Dale did with their flower arrangements and bouquets by Rented Elegance. Another easy (and always fun) way to amp up your wedding day style is with bold accessories for your bridesmaids.

Compliment simple black dresses with brightly hued clutches…

Clutches by Christian Louboutin, Lauren Merkin and Carlos Falchi

Fabulously bold shoes…

Red cross d’orsay pumps, fuchsia and black satin d’orsay pumps, and pink and red shiny sequin pumps by Manolo Blahnik

And sweet and sassy secret underthings, what’s more fun than that?

Cosabella Lola boy shorts, Honeydew Intimates ‘Rumba’ mesh ice cream boyshorts, and Hanky Panky Colorplay ruched boy shorts

Wedding Gifts for Guys- Creative Cuff Links

March 12, 2008 | editorial team

I kept running across photos of these super cool cuff links made from the actual old wooden seats from Wrigley Field, RFK Stadium and Yankee Stadium (baseball lovers rejoice!) so I finally went to check them out at Eco-Artware.com and found a treasure trove of other cool cuff links made from recycled materials. How great would any of these green gifts be for your groom or groomsmen to wear?

For the city guy- cuff links made from old subway tokens from New York, Chicago, Boston, D.C. and San Francisco.

For the writer- cuff links made from vintage typewriter keys. For the gamer- cuff links made from old scrabble tiles and dice. For the collector- cuff links made from buffalo nickels, Indian head pennies and mercury dimes. And for the gadget guy- cuff links made from vintage watch movements. So fun, and eco-friendly to boot!
