Wedding Cake Toppers and Handmade Wedding Decor from Studio d. Sharp

May 19, 2008 | editorial team

Denise Sharp of Studio d.Sharp, along with her ever so talented hands, makes the most charming and whimsical paper creations around. Wedding cake toppers and finials, candy boxes and crowns. Each one-of-a-kind treasure is handmade with love out of vintage paper, sheet music, glass glitter and other pieces of found ephemera. Does craftiness get any more charming than this? See the Studio d. Sharp website for information on all her products, contact her for a custom designed piece just for your wedding, or follow along with what’s new on her blog which has (not surprisingly) won me over with its charm, wit and wisdom.

They’re all so pretty, I’m now officially searching for a reason to purchase one of her creations! A cake topper to top my next birthday cake? Mini paper trophies for the day we finish our Junebug wedding planning book? A glittering gold tiara for, well, whenever I feel like wearing a tiara? Ooh, that might be the winner! Which one is your favorite?

Blue, Red and Cream Wedding Color Palette Inspired by the Photos of Norman Jean Roy

May 16, 2008 | editorial team

While looking around for more inspirational images from famous fashion photographers, I was so excited to find the knockout portfolio of fashion and documentary portrait photographer Norman Jean Roy. I love the rich tones and the emotional depth in his photos, and couldn’t resist creating an inspiration board out of one of my favorites. Its saturated creams and blues sent me into wedding idea heaven, and I just had to add red to the color palette mix for that true eclectic Mediterranean feel.
