The sunshine in Seattle finally feels here to stay, so I’m saying hooray for summer with a wedding inspiration board in the sunniest of colors, aqua blue and yellow! This color palette makes me smile just looking at it – who wouldn’t love to be surrounded by all those little details like the turquoise earrings, the yellow heels, the blue bicycle and the get-away car? I happen to love a little band called the White Stripes (you may have heard of them) and on Sunday I was lucky enough to get to road trip up to Vancouver, BC to see them play and to visit my friend Ben who is touring with them (see the man in uniform above). The show rocked, we had a blast, and now I love the band even more! On the drive home, visions of their constant red, white and black color scheme flickered in my mind and I got to wondering what a White Stripes wedding would look like. Graphic, intense, quirky, dramatic and a little bit rock and roll: my idea of the ultimate red, white and black wedding! Now if only Jack and Meg would play at the reception…

Junebug’s Best Wedding Color Ideas – Royal Blue and Metallic

These royal blue and metallic wedding color ideas, originally posted on April 18, 2008, are so modern edgy, yet elegant at the same time…

This past week I’ve been such a lucky girl! I’ve gotten to visit local Junebug member dress shops and choose all the wedding dresses, veils, hairpieces and bridal accessories we’ll be photographing for our book later this week. Fun! Yesterday I picked up this stunning Birnbaum and Bullock tulle ballgown from The Bridal Garden, and I fell in love with the idea of combining its classic beauty with cool rock and roll details. I love the way the grays, metallics and vibrant royal blues in this inspiration board add a lush but slightly edgy modern feel to this wedding day look. So romantic, yet so current and playful!
