Classically Beautiful Wedding at the University Club of Chicago – Meredith and James

What three adjectives best describe your wedding? Joyful, Vibrant, Classic

What was your wedding color palette? Ivory, black, navy, with touches of spring green

What inspired your personal wedding style, and how did you incorporate your style and personalities into your big day? My husband and I both gravitate toward classic, clean, and elegant aesthetics and allowed that to guide our decisions about decor, clothing, and color. Before the wedding, we spoke with our officiant about the qualities we love most in the other person, and she shared those during our ceremony. It was a nice way of making the ceremony very personal and allowed us to share more with those who came to the wedding.

Looking back, what are the moments, decisions or memories that you love the most about your wedding? Our first look was a magical and very intimate moment for us. It was the perfect way to start the day’s events together, just the two of us, before celebrating with all of our loved ones. We will also never forget looking around the room at the reception and seeing the faces of so many loved ones who were there to support us and celebrate together. It was truly a rich, blessed feeling.

What piece of advice would you give to a bride planning her wedding today? The day goes by so quickly. Take the time to stop, look around, and soak in your surroundings.

Glamorous Armenian Wedding at Vibiana, LA – Duke Images – Anais and Arsen

Anais and Arsen’s Armenian wedding day was all about celebration, love, and family; but it also happened to be filled with romantic details, glamorous decor, and the prettiest soft pink color palette that I adore! Mix in the AH-mazing Vibiana in L.A. and stunning photos by Duke Images, and you’ve got a wedding I’m totally in love with!

The Wedding: 2.19.12 – Vibiana – Los Angeles, CA

What were the top three priorities for you in planning your wedding? We had one big priority for our wedding – we wanted to throw a great party and for all our guests to have a great time. Music was very important and we wanted to be surrounded by our family and friends!

What wedding traditions or cultural traditions did you incorporated into your wedding and what did they mean to you? We are both Armenian and got married in an Armenian church. Armenians love to have a good time, so it was very important to us to have Armenian music and dancing at the wedding. We also had an Armenian caterer. The food, served family style, was something we wanted to share with all our guests.

What was your biggest wedding planning success? Our biggest wedding planning success was selecting professionals who we felt comfortable with and whose work we loved. It allowed us to relax, enjoy the wedding planning process, and to have the most amazing time on our wedding day. It was a day filled with love, family and friends, and we couldn’t have asked for anything more.

What was the most important thing that you learned through the wedding planning process and what would you tell other brides-to-be? Hire a wedding coordinator! Bob Gail was amazing! Not only did his company greatly help throughout the planning process, but the day of wouldn’t have gone as smoothly without them. We didn’t have to worry about anything the day of the wedding other than what we were there for – to get married! We also hired people that we truly liked and wanted to be surrounded by on the day of our wedding.

Another important thing we learned was that you cant, and shouldn’t try, to please everybody. You will get a lot of opinions on how things should be done, but at the end of the day, the event is about the two of you getting married. If it represents the two of you, if will be a day that you both will never forget.
