Classic Southern Wedding in Atlanta with Photos by Vue Photography – Heather and Marty

Brought to us by Junebug member Vue Photography along with Sashay Creative Events, Heather and Marty’s southern wedding at the historical Swan House in Atlanta is classic in every way. From the blush, cream and dusty grey color palette to the elegant wedding fashion, each and every detail is superbly executed with southern style.

The Wedding: 9.21.2013 – Swan House at the Atlanta History Center, Atlanta, Georgia

The Goals: We just wanted to have a great time at our wedding! Our top priorities were to hire a spectacular band and a great photographer. We really wanted a style that was classic and old fashioned. In short to honor Atlanta.

The Design: We wanted to create an atmosphere that was truly family focused. In the end, we decided to set the tone with a shabby chic style using farm tables and muted colors.

The Look: For my wedding dress, I really wanted to stay traditionally southern while also remaining timeless. Most importantly, I wanted to feel comfortable, show off my figure and stay away from strapless.

The Moments: Some of my favorite moments were getting ready, the first dance, and the father-daughter dance.

The Advice: Stay organized, hire planner if possible and remember to feel like a guest on your wedding day!

Bridal Fashion Inspiration for the Modern Courthouse Bride

While we love the traditional long white dress for the big day, we couldn’t help but have a little fun finding a modern look that could be worn for an elopement or courthouse ceremony. We loved the idea of playing with tailored menswear inspired styles and put together two looks that really marry the feminine and the masculine side of us all.

Lovely and flattering, this lace jumpsuit may be all you need to feel elegant and beautiful on your special day. We love the new metallic shoe trend and the designer loved these shoes so much, he put a ring on it. Pair this look with some of your favorite jewels and voila!

Darling Countryside Wedding Inspiration Photo Shoot with Photography by L Hewitt Photography

We couldn’t help but dream of carefree summer days when we first saw this charming photo shoot. The planner, Lauren Niles for The Regent at Stone House, really achieved an air of romance, antiquity, and joy with this amazingly styled wedding and our wonderful member, Leah Hewitt of L Hewitt Photography, captured every timeless moment perfectly. We hope you feel just as nostalgic as we do when we scroll through all these lovely photos!

Here are a few words from Lauren Niles on the inspiration for this shoot:

The Regent at Stone House is a new venue on a 19th century farm just north of Baltimore, Maryland. We did this shoot to evoke the history and timeless romance of the venue. We wanted it to feel warm, relatable and romantic in a nostalgic way, from the playfulness of the ring bearer and the flower girl to picking and sharing wildflowers and spending a summer evening dining al fresco in the midst of a rolling country setting. I chose natural textured linens, distressed finishes and organically designed florals punctuated by fresh fruit. But, as a firm believer in high-low design, these raw elements were matched with rich, ornate touches, such as gold flatware, crystal stemware, chinois china, french cane back chairs and of course, the classic black and white tuxedo. You honestly can never go wrong with a black and white tuxedo (bowtie obviously required)!
