Gorgeous Wedding at Cedar Lake Cellars

February 3, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Traditional weddings that take cues from vintage style have a certain charm and elegance unlike any other. Emily and Matt’s gorgeous St. Louis wedding was held at Cedar Lake Cellars, the ideal spot for a wedding with ivory and champagne details and saying I Do. With the help of Kristin Ashley Events, the winery wedding took on an elevated version of a rustic motif that resulted in sweet and romantic wedding style. These images from Kelly Pratt Photography are equally sweet and romantic, and we can’t help but smile looking at the newlyweds grinning at one another on their special day.

The Couple:

Emily and Matt

The Wedding:

Cedar Lake Cellars, St. Louis, Missouri

The Inspiration:

Vintage with personal touches, while keeping an overall traditional feel. My engagement ring was my husband’s grandmother’s. I felt so special that I was able to wear this ring on my finger, and it really was the center of so much of our wedding inspiration. My dress was traditional but so perfect for me in my opinion, I couldn’t have gone another way. We gave the bridesmaids and groomsmen some ideas and color palettes to get started and then they all picked their own, even the jewelry. It turned out so perfect. People were able to show their true personalities while staying formal for our big day.

The Moments:

I don’t think I can pick just one, but my favorite hour was the ceremony. We only had a small group of our attendees join us at the actual ceremony, the ceremony was conducted by my groom’s Uncle, Father Tom and every piece of it was so very special and meaningful. It felt like it was just the two of us again, but surrounded by so much love, it was absolutely perfect and it literally was the happiest hour I have ever experienced.

The Couple Recommends:

Photography (Kelly Pratt), videography (Jason Gibson) and our florist (Tina Barrera). They were INCREDIBLE! Our photography and videography teams headed out to our venue months prior to our event to find the best location to get shots which made the entire day completely smooth, seamless and perfect. I love flowers, but I don’t know the first thing about them, and I showed Tina a few Pinterest pictures, and she was able to exceed every expectation I could have imagined!

Maine Mountain Wedding Inspiration at Merrill House

February 3, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Wintry-Styled-Shoot-Watershed-Floral-5

We’re so in love with the mountain wedding inspiration from this styled shoot at Merrill House in Maine that we just had to share. Many wintry weddings opt for a simple color palette of red and green, but post-holiday weddings in the snow deserve their own pops of color. The emerald, gold, and radiant orchid color scheme is perfect for both a mountain setting and a stylish couple. The shoot was impeccably styled by Pencil Events, who collaborated with Watershed Floral to create a cohesive and romantic floral design to carry out the mountain wedding theme.

Here’s what Megan Marsh of Pencil Events had to say about the inspiration behind the shoot:

We began planning for this winter shoot by imagining the story of a young, edgy couple: they might road trip through Maine, stumble on their dream wedding spot, gather their closest friends, and nestle in for a cozy shindig. It takes a feisty couple to brave New England winter but some of the most stunning and sweetest weddings in Maine happen deep in the winter months.

We wanted to juxtapose the all-American motifs of mountainous Western Maine with young love—equal parts gritty and sugary sweet. Merrill House was the stunning backdrop for this shoot and contributed the first of our three prominent colors: mustard. The pine trees native to Maine and the grounds at Merrill House offered a second obvious color: hunter. To add that sugary touch of romance, we chose rose quartz pink as the final guiding color. Once we arrived on rose quartz pink, incorporating minerals and gemstones native to the region was a natural next step and provided a sparkly, romantic touch to the shoot.

Throughout the design, we juxtaposed the cozy with the chilly, the handmade with the organic, the soft with the spiky, and the antique with the modern for a winter shoot that is distinctly contemporary American.

Glamorous Garden Wedding in Italy

February 3, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Glamorous-Italian-Garden-Wedding-DSVisuals-Photography-20

While some intimate weddings take a more casual approach, Francesca and Mauro’s exclusive garden wedding in Italy was positively glamorous. Te bride carried a bouquet of bright white orchids and wore a lace dress with a plunging neckline. After the traditional ceremony, the couple was surrounded by friends and family during the extravagant party in the garden at their own home. DS Visuals Weddings brilliantly captured the romantic and lavish day, and the resulting images so clearly show the love Francesca and Mauro share.

The Couple:

Francesca and Mauro

The Wedding:

Private Residence, Piedimonte Matese, Italy

The Inspiration:

I envisioned our wedding taking place in our own garden at our home, which was perfect because it was an exclusive party location. It was when we hired our wedding planner that all of our visions became a reality!
