Eclectic Boho Wedding at Mercury Hall

Eclectic-Boho-Wedding-at-Mercury-Hall (28 of 33)

After a proposal in India, Courtney and Grant saw it fit to incorporate Indian inspired traditions into their wedding. An Asiatic elephant topped cake, Henna artist, Tarot card reader, and other cultural touches made this eclectic boho wedding at Mercury Hall in Austin, Texas unforgettable. The bride, who’s a designer herself, personalized the wedding by designing her gorgeous nude dress with hints of pink. Brilliantly planned and designed by Becky Navarro of Pearl Events, the colorful wedding decor popped throughout the venue, creating focal points for tables, which were dressed in white linen and gold and black flatware. The amazing photographer Briana Purser captured the couple’s big day perfectly.

The Couple:

Courtney and Grant

The Wedding:

Mercury Hall, Austin, Texas

The Inspiration:

I’d call it “East meets Southwest” – a blend of India inspired traditions, colors and sparkles along with Southwestern succulents and cow skulls. I designed my own dress made from traditional Indian attire pieces I found in New Delhi.

The Moments:

The best part about our wedding was having our friends and family from all over the country come together in our favorite city + our home base for our special day. We were so excited to share what we love about this town with our guests through our wedding festivities, from the local BBQ of East Austin’s own Mickelthwait served at our night before the wedding Welcome Party, to the wine from Becker Winery in Texas Hill Country, and of course, the sounds of all of our super talented musician friends that performed. We are so lucky to have such a great creative community here in Austin, our wedding wouldn’t have been nearly as cool without their help and talents. But back to the real question… if you really want to know our favorite moment, it would have to be our tequila shot toast. That was awesome :)

The Couple Recommends:

We loved loved our wedding team!! Becky Navarro of Pearl Events Austin is the best. She helped us figure out so many of the small details and was just so completely cool and collected throughout the entire process. Briana and James of Briana Purser Photography were awesome, they captured our wedding beautifully and created a gorgeous album for us that we LOVE. Danann Patrick is an amazing hair stylist and I am still thankful for her suggesting that I get extensions for the wedding = love her! Ashley Rae Hancock is such a super talented total babe MUA and I am still so pleased with the pink lip color she whipped up for me :) STEMS did a super lovely job with our flowers and table top decor, they picked the most vibrant and perfect coral peonies for my girls, arrangement + flower crown! Stephanie of LWR did just the trick with her artfully draped sari photo booth backdrop, altar decor, and more. Courtney Chavanell & James Webber took our photobooth to the next level with their portrait style capture of our guests. My henna!-Thanks Nisha! Angeliska on Tarot! Chris, Karla, Ted, Paul, Andrew, Abram, Dana, Matt, Simon, Molly – thank you guys soooo much for all of your help with orchestrating the musical entertainment for the night – we are so lucky to have you talented fools as friends! ;) <3 We are so grateful for all of our wedding team, friends, family members and parents. Much love xox ~Courtney & Grant

Timeless Wedding at the LeMay Car Museum

March 5, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Timeless-Wedding-LeMay-Car-Museum-Ryan-Flynn (22 of 31)

A car museum may sound like an odd choice for a wedding venue, but LeMay Car Museum set a classic and elegant tone for Erika and Michael’s timeless Washington wedding. Erika’s vintage-inspired Tara Keely gown perfectly complemented the candy apple red Mustang the couple drove from their ceremony to the reception. Photographer Ryan Flynn‘s images from the day are truly stunning, and we know Erika and Michael will cherish them forever.

The Couple:

Erika and Michael

The Wedding:

LeMay Car Museum, Tacoma, Washington

The Inspiration:

We wanted our wedding to reflect our personality and significant moments in our relationship. We also wanted our wedding to withstand the test of time so we focused on classic colors and decor.

The Moments:

Our favorite moment was hanging out with our family and wedding party right before walking down the aisle. Everyone was dancing with excitement to Frank Sinatra in anticipation of what was to come. It was a wonderful moment where we could slow down and take in the day.

The Couple Recommends:

Sorella Salon & Spa, who did all the hair and makeup, was beyond fabulous and the ladies made the morning so much fun. They are truly gifted at what they do. Our photographer, Ryan Flynn, was not only awesome to spend the day with but is such a talent. He made us feel so comfortable and beautifully documented the day. Violet Studios did an amazing job of putting together a beautiful wedding video that not only captured the day but also captured our love story.

Stylish Wedding in Israel

March 5, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Stylish-Wedding-Israel-We-Are-Red (16 of 26)

Mika and Anton’s wedding in Israel is a little off the beaten path while remaining absolutely elegant. The bride created her own wedding day look with a lace crop top and long skirt. Inspired by fresh flowers, the couple decided to fill their Tel Aviv venue Arugot Bosem with pretty petals in soft pink and yellow hues. Despite a forecast of rain, the brilliant photographers behind We Are Red captured romantic outdoor portraits of the soon-to-be husband and wife.

The Couple:

Mika and Anton

The Wedding:

Arugot Bosem, Tel Aviv, Israel

The Inspiration:

The inspiration for the venue was traditional British posh decor, like the boutique hotel we stayed at when we got engaged. I love flowers so I knew I wanted to get as many flowers as possible but still keep it stylish by using mostly neutral colors. We really like vintage-urban style so we found an amazing house where we took our photos. It also made for a perfect Plan B from the rain!

As for my wedding dress I wanted to look like a bride but still keep it chic and comfortable so I designed my own top and skirt and created the whole dress from scratch with the help of my talented mum and aunt. The result was a trendy-yet-classy dress.

The Moments:

Our favorite moment in the wedding was when we improvised a dance routine somewhere towards the end of the night. One of my friends asked me if I wanted to ask the DJ for any songs and, being the ’80s freak that I am, I asked for “I Want To Know What Love Is” by Foreigner. The music started and we just started dancing and lip syncing. Everybody cleared the dance floor it was like a scene from “Dirty Dancing.” He even lifted me in the air! Because it was late there was no photographer anymore but a friend filmed us on her phone so we have minute of it on film.

The Couple Recommends:

Our photographers Tsuria and Liad from We Are Red were amazing! They came with such a great energy! Neither me or my husband were used to being photographed and we were not thrilled with the idea of it, but these guys made it feel so natural and fun for us. We had such a great time with them we didn’t want it to be over — they just set the tone for the rest of the event for us. The results are amazing. They take beautiful photos and are so talented (I swear they are not paying me to write this!).

Also a shout at our videographer Rony from FilmStill photography who kept me laughing through the whole day, yet kept out of everybody’s way and did her job perfectly, very talented with her DSLR camera!
