Sentimental Winter Park Farmer’s Market Wedding

March 25, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

DougandMia(junebug)(15of20)

With a broccoli-clad bouquet in hand, Mia said “I do,” to Doug at the Winter Park Farmer’s Market on a rainy day in Florida. The sweet couple chose a venue where they had spent many Saturday dates throughout their relationship. Every detail of their wedding was a reference to a sentimental aspect of their years as a couple. Nate + Lori captured the remarkable day in two mediums, both still images that move you and film that stops you in your tracks.

The Couple:

Mia and Doug

The Wedding:

Winter Park Farmer’s Market, Winter Park, Florida

The Inspiration:

Doug and I really just wanted the wedding to be inspired by the people we love most. We wanted every guest to feel important and loved. We wanted every thing in the room to be genuine. I wanted people to walk into our wedding and say, “This looks like Mia AND Doug” not just Mia.

Our wedding was at the Winter Park Farmer’s Market, where we loved to have Saturday morning dates. Our centerpieces were jasmine, succulents and rosemary from the farmer’s market planted in jars and tea cups from local thrift shops. My beautiful florist even put broccoli in my bouquet! The story is that our first valentines day, we were just in between friends and dating. Doug wanted to do something special but not scare me away. I’m a vegetarian, so he thought leaving a hand-made bouquet of broccoli on my doorstep would do the trick.

The whole night was just such a celebration of our extraordinary community and the artist hearts that dwell within it, all which are so dear to Doug and I’s story.

The Moments:

When the officiant announced that Doug could kiss his bride, we kissed and the crowd cheered. All of a sudden the crowd began to cheer even harder. We opened our eyes and confetti was falling all around us! Our ushers had set off confetti cannons.

Teal Wedding at the Julia Morgan Ballroom

March 25, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Teal-Wedding-Julia-Morgan-Ballroom-Milou-Olin (15 of 25)

Jessica and Matt’s two-part celebration was tied together with the most perfect shade of teal. First, the couple were married in a traditional Mormon ceremony at the Oakland California Temple. Though photographers are not allowed inside, Milou and Olin captured stunning portraits of the newlyweds in front of the immaculate structure. The pair had a second ceremony and reception in the Julia Morgan Ballroom in San Francisco, where macarons, doughnuts, and paper flowers set the scene for a sweet evening.

The Couple:

Jessica and Matt

The Wedding:

Julia Morgan Ballroom, San Francisco, California

The Inspiration:

Food-centric, effortless yet elegant. I cared more about the food than anything else. We had a buffet filled with BBQ brisket, smokies, jalapeno cornbread, twice baked potatoes, grilled corn, and a lot more. We also had a macaroon and donut tower in place of the cake.

Our wedding decor and fashion were simple. We centered everything around teal (see shoe and belt color) and got complementary decor from Etsy to support local makers.

The Moments:

My dad gave the perfect wedding speech that my friends still comment on to this day. It was the good mix of embarrassing me, complimenting me, talking about Matt and my relationship, and showing his love for us.

Timeless Garden Wedding in Georgia

March 24, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Inspired by old Hollywood glamour, Danay and Maxim’s garden wedding in Georgia was romantic and timeless. The stunning bride had an effortless Audrey Hepburn inspired look with a vintage style clip in her demure ‘do. The family-oriented event was filled with special moments as guests celebrated Danay and Maxim, all of which were masterfully captured by Harper Noel Photography.

The Couple:

Danay and Maxim

The Wedding:

The Gardens at Great Oaks, Roswell Georgia

The Inspiration:

My wedding, and the engagement journey shall I say, was all about family. My lovely parents were involved with all the planning. I wanted this to be a great day for our families, not just for us. And I cherish how much we all bonded over planning our wedding. We wanted the wedding day to have a classic, whimsical garden theme. I wanted the day to be sprinkled with touches of romance and magic…but most of all FUN. For the dress, I didn’t want anything too modern or necessarily va va voom. I wanted to capture a classic almost regal and old Hollywood type of look. Like Audrey Hepburn in a European palace black and white old Hollywood. A timelessness.

The Moments:

Goodness… that’s pretty hard to narrow down. There were so many special moments. My mother and Father both wrote my husband and I letters that were just beyond touching. Oh and when I was in the house getting ready to walk, my brother comes in and yells has anyone seen Jordan?!?! No one could find my bridal announcer, and then watching the procession I see him running across the lawn. Hysterical. After that, besides the awesome band and dancing that totally sweated my hair out and had me rocking a poof ball for the rest of the night…the speeches were enormously more than I thought they would be. We were lavishly loved on. Oh and I cannot go without mentioning…we thought it was going to be a beautiful sunny moderately cool day. However, we were greeted with torrential down pour all night before..and then crazy cold temperatures and high winds. It was FREEZING, and my vail almost blew off. But the cold made the day all the more memorable, and I wouldn’t change a thing.

The Couple Recommends:

Oh my goodness. Our professionals were truly amazing. They became like family during this time. Joi Klan is the best! She helped plan such a wonderful day for us. And always had tea and cake when we came in for meetings. Due to the cold weather, a lot of changes had to be made at the last minute. She and Tamzen Pickard worked extremely hard to still make our day as close to what we wanted if we would have had perfect weather. Suburban Rentals worked so hard to get the extra tent and stage set up for us. The BAND was amazing!! They were more than music, they were true entertainment. All our guest said the band MADE our reception. And Patty the MC worked very closely with me to make sure everything was perfect and she pronounce ALL the names right. And we had some very challenging names. Toni from Epic Catering was wonderful to work with. He has such a calm reassurance about him. He goes far beyond catering, he also played a huge roll in making sure all aspects of the wedding was what we wanted. Inga of Harper Noel Photography was just a joy! We arrived so late on the day of, but she just rolled right with it and captured the most amazing pictures. We were blown away by the service and quality of Harper Noel Photography. Also our Videographer Joe gave us a lovely short film of our special day. And as I said, we started late, but he stayed a little later in our reception even though it was past the time we paid for. I would suggest all of these wonderful wedding professionals.
