Lauren and Jon’s casual Austin wedding was filled with Texas Hill Country charm. The couple said “I do” beneath the large, twisting branches that have become a highlight of Mercury Hall weddings. Mercedes Morgan Photography captured every romantic detail, from Lauren’s curly up-do to the handmade crepe paper bouquets in shades of blush, coral, and fuchsia.
I think the unofficial theme of the wedding was casual elegance, if you can call that a theme! We were getting married at a modern venue with a bit of an Austin Hill Country vibe. It was the perfect amount of comfortable yet classic. My mom made all the wedding and ceremony flowers by hand from crepe paper; this was an incredibly meaningful and elegant touch.
The Moments:
We hired a local group called Typewriter Rodeo that types custom poems on the spot based on any prompt. The poems were uniquely personal and memorable keepsakes for my guests. I was happy that so many people mentioned how much they enjoyed the personalized poems and what a sweet idea it was.
Also, I LOVED when Jon and I got in the middle of a dance circle and tore it up to “Uptown Funk.”
The Couple Recommends:
I would certainly recommend Mercedes Morgan Photography for being so easy to work with, keeping me calm, and producing fantastic work that speaks for itself. I didn’t have to worry about them capturing the right shot, I had absolute faith.
I would also highly recommend Mandy Millican with Modern Whimsy Events. She is organized and on top of everything, not to mention she also offers a wedding day yoga package for bride and bridesmaids which was glorious and really set the calm tone for the day.
A soft field of tall grass and the rocky seaside at Cape Kiwanda made for a romantic backdrop during Jacqueline and Patrick’s engagement session with Katie Nicolle Photography. The couple couldn’t have looked more comfortable skipping barefoot in the sand, Jacqueline with floppy hat in hand, as they kissed, hugged, and celebrated their upcoming wedding.
Thanks to Katie Nicolle Photography for sharing Jacqueline and Patrick’s dreamy Cape Kiwanda engagement session with Junebug! For more waterfront photo inspiration, be sure to check out Sarah and Brandon’s St. Augustine anniversary session.
