Portuguese Bridal Inspiration Shoot at Pousada de Palmela

Pedro Vilela Photography and a talented team of other extraordinary wedding professionals bring us a gorgeous Portuguese bridal inspiration shoot, and in one word, it’s breathtaking. Awe-inspiring views, eroded stone walls, and an enchanting forest all come together to portray this beautiful bridal story.

Here’s a little dreamy insight about the shoot from photographer Pedro Vilela:

The idea was to portray a dream. The dream of a bride sleeping in a room at the Pousada de Palmela in the middle of Serra da Arrábida. All we see is what’s going on in her head, she is alone. She wanders the corridors to try to understand what is going on, she finds the dress in one of the lounges, prepares herself with all the precepts for the big day. Suddenly, she appears in the middle of dense green and there finds her laid table, the cake, the flowers, jewelry. Wanders through the woods, without having complete certainty if that is true or not. We chose countryside elements, with bold colors, reminiscent of the painted field of poppies, characteristic of Portuguese landscapes this time of the year. We chose lace (in the towel and dress) because it is a traditional and national symbol and the blue tile in the ceramic elements because it characterizes our artistic culture, here with a more modern touch. The jewelry pieces, refer to a very manual labor, concern for detail, so characteristic of Portuguese handicraft, again with a contemporary approach. Regarding the floral work, we chose flowers from the season, indigenous, simple and unpretentious. We wanted to show a different side to a wedding, the expectation, the desire and the unique beauty of each detail.

Charming Hometown Wedding at The Herlong Mansion

August 28, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Charming-Hometown-Wedding-at-The-Herlong-Mansion (17 of 27)

There’s something really special about tying the knot in your hometown. For Colby and Trina, The Herlong Mansion in Micanopy, Florida gave off a sense of warmth, coziness, and, above all, it represented home. The bridesmaids wore light-pink gowns and held baby’s breath, which offered up a simple and fresh color palette for this rustic wedding. We absolutely love how the simplicity of the wedding design allowed Villetto Photography to focus on capturing the irreplaceable moments Colby and Trina spent on their big day!

The Couple:

Colby and Trina

The Wedding:

The Herlong Mansion, Micanopy, Florida

The Moments:

We had two favorite moments at our wedding. Our first favorite moment was seeing each other for the first time at the alter. We made a point of not seeing each other before the ceremony, so that moment was very exciting and special for us. Our second favorite moment was sitting down at a long table and eating dinner with our family. We had a very small, 30 person, family wedding and being able to share a family supper with them for the first time as a married couple was extremely important to us, and a dinner that we will never forget.

Blush and Gray Des Moines Wedding at Sticks

August 27, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Blush-and-Gray-Des-Moines-Wedding-at-Sticks-Amanda-Basteen (19 of 26)

Pink peonies and ivory roses punctuated Jessica and Mark’s blush and gray Des Moines wedding at Sticks. The outdoor-indoor venue made for a perfectly romantic setting to say “I do” and dance the night away. Out of Box Event Productions impeccably styled the affair with subtle rustic elements while remaining utterly elegant. Amanda Basteen Photography captured the sweetest portraits of the newlyweds as they spent a few moments together walking through the venue grounds before heading into their indoor reception.

The Couple:

Jessica and Mark

The Wedding:

Sticks, Des Moines, Iowa

The Inspiration:

I wanted a beautiful spring wedding outside and Sticks provided the perfect backdrop for that inspiration. The colors for the wedding were blushes, whites, gold, and earthy tones. Peonies and large roses were my flower of choice because they represented the elegant yet soft color structure of spring time. Everything came together perfectly and all of the artists did such a great job making my vision come true.

The Moments:

Jessica: I loved the whole day with my girls, it was so fun and surreal, but if I had to choose one specific moment I would say it was when my husband sang to me at the reception. The band called him up and he sang Fly Me to the Moon by Frank Sinatra. He has such an amazing voice and my heart sunk. How many brides can say they’ve been serenaded by their husband on their wedding day?

Mark: The whole day was absolutely unforgettable. I had all my best friends with me and some I hadn’t seen for 10 years in my wedding by my side. I’d be lying though if I didn’t admit my favorite moment was seeing Jessie for the first time being walked down the aisle by her dad. We didn’t see each other before the wedding so it made it very special. She was so beautiful and radiant, I couldn’t hold back the tears.

The Couple Recommends:

Anthony Marinaro of Out of Box Event Productions was absolutely fantastic! I don’t think things would have ran as smoothly without his professionalism and calm demeanor. He had a way of making everyone around him feel special and I know my husband and family loved working with him. He was very organized, yet knew when to let his guard down so everyone could enjoy the experience. I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for a planner; he’s top notch!
