Glamorous Black and White Brooklyn Wedding

October 12, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

ein-W-P&I-0023

With its classic black and white palette, Pola and Igor’s glamorous Brooklyn wedding could have taken place in 1925, 1955, or 2015. The truly timeless affair took place at El Caribe Country Club Caterers in a lavish indoor ceremony surrounded by friends and family. The couple’s portraits with ein photography are as elegant and chic as could be as they strolled through the city sidewalks on the way to say “I do!”

The Couple:

Pola and Igor

The Wedding:

El Caribe Country Club Caterers, Brooklyn, New York

The Inspiration:

Classic and personal. When I think of classic and beautiful decor I always think of a touch of gold — so I really used that throughout the wedding, from invitations, to a flower wall behind our table, to Igor‘s bow tie, gold accents were weaved throughout. There are so many fads that go in and out of style, especially in wedding decor, but I really wanted my wedding to feel like it could have happened in 1925, 1955 or 2015 and kept everything in my idea of “classic” for that reason. Every element was also very personal — our table numbers were actual photos of us holding up the numbers — elements like the ceremony music and accessories were all carefully chosen and thought of to reflect us as a couple.

The Moments:

That moment we first saw each other during the “reveal.” That morning we were both full of nerves and anticipation of the day. Not seeing each other and having one another to talk to about it all was tough. The moment he opened his eyes and we finally saw one another all of that fear and nerves went away and I finally felt excited and ready. He was the most handsome I’d ever seen him in.

The Couple Recommends:

Lilia of Plume and Stone was incredible. I had a very specific vision but didn’t know how to convey it without many many drafts and emails back and forth. She was incredibly helpful and patient and really brought my vision to life.

ein photography surpassed my wildest expectations. The photos are some of the most beautiful I have ever seen and his team was incredibly professional and humble – keeping the situation under control all day while remaining calm and keeping us all upbeat and excited while maintaining our nerves.

And lastly, my hairstylist Senada who might just be one of the sweetest and most talented person I’ve ever met.

North Carolina Bridal Session at Little Herb House

October 12, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

North-Carolina-Bridal-Session-at-Little-Herb-House-Hartman-Outdoor-Photography-0217

Real bride Kelly was invited to play model in this gorgeous North Carolina bridal session at Little Herb House, and the resulting images are as dreamy as could be! Hartman Outdoor Photography began planning this beautiful photo shoot when a light layer of snow still covered the fields of Little Herb House. Inspired by the coming spring season, soft lavender, and bride Kelly’s irresistible red hair, these bridal portraits have a vintage country vibe perfect for any Southern bride-to-be!

Here’s what photographer Shelley Hartman had to say about organizing the beautiful bridal shoot:

Last winter, long before the days warmed up and the flowers bloomed, I began dreaming of weddings. I couldn’t wait for another year full of joyful couples, free-spirited brides, and outdoor ceremonies. In these thoughts, I began brainstorming for a styled shoot with one of my favorite venues in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Little Herb House is an actual working farm and herb garden. It has open fields, chicken coops, a rustic barn and all sorts of beautiful plants growing in abundance. In planning this shoot, I wanted to incorporate the herbs and wildflowers from the venue’s gardens. The owner of the venue, Lisa Treadway, designed a beautiful flower crown of lavender and gardenia. She topped the tables with hand picked flowers and used her own set of mismatched fine china to set the table. We placed the table out in the field to demonstrate an open air reception. A vintage lace tablecloth was hung from an arbor in the gardens to create an intimate ceremony site. All chairs and tables were handcrafted by Hobnob Occasions.

Our beautiful bride Kelly is one of my real brides. She will be getting married this October in North Carolina to a wonderful man named Chris. Her gorgeous red hair is unforgettable and I was so happy to photograph her. Kelly’s makeup was done by Jennifer Waller, CEO and founder of Celtic Complexion. Jennifer creates luxury organic mineral cosmetics and I felt her brand blended well with the theme of the shoot. The sweetly subtle lavender Emmaline bridal gown was provided by Maggi Bridal Boutique.

I am so grateful to my gorgeous bride Kelly and all of the vendors who helped style a stunning bridal session. I certainly could not have done it without them.

Thoughtful Alternative New Hampshire Wedding

October 12, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Thoughtful-Alternative-New-Hampshire-Wedding-Jess-Jolin-Photography-79

If you’re feeling a little sentimental this morning, Emily and Matthew’s New Hampshire wedding is exactly what you need to fully embrace your tender heart. Every detail of the day was a thoughtful and personal touch, from giving cacti from their favorite vacation spot in California as favors to bridal accessories purchased from Etsy, showing their dedicated support to shopping small. Even the reception décor, hundreds of handmade dream catchers hanging around The Stone Church, were sold during the wedding to raise money for the ALS foundation in honor of a dear friend. Does it get any sweeter than that? Yes! The golden hour portraits with Jess Jolin Photography are impossibly romantic, making this one of the most endearing weddings we’ve seen to date!

The Couple:

Emily and Matthew

The Wedding:

The Stone Church, Newmarket, New Hampshire

The Inspiration:

Our inspiration was very simple: we wanted something that reflected us as a couple. We refused to get lost in the glitz and glamour of an elaborate and fancy wedding. We wanted personal touches, hints of Emily and Matt wherever our guests went. We love the outdoors and the Grateful Dead. We’ve traveled a lot together and many of our touches were inspired from things we’ve seen. Dream catchers were hung from the ceiling in our venue (our friends all got together one weekend and we made about a hundred of them ourselves. We sold them at our wedding and all proceeds went to the ALS foundation under the name of a close friend of ours who’s father passed away from ALS. We raised close to $250.00 and my sister matched that). We had cacti from CA (one of our favorite places!) as our favors. We shopped from local businesses and bought all our wedding décor from small shops on Etsy. We believe in supporting small and local businesses, so that was very important to us. We wanted guests to leave our wedding with the thought, “that was about Emily and Matt. Simply. Just them.”

The Moments:

My favorite moment from the wedding was our first dance. It was to “Harvest Moon” by Neil Young. We saw Neil Young live together and it was an out of body experience. He is one of our favorite musicians and his lyrics are powerful and moving. Dancing with Matt to that was like dancing on the moon. I can’t remember a single person being there. I can’t remember even hearing anything. I just remember him.

The Couple Recommends:

Our wedding team was fabulous. I can’t explain how great it was to work with such empowered and take charge women. Our day of wedding coordinator was Nicole Mower and she was a driving force in such a positive day for us. When we first met her, it was like being reunited with your long lost best friend. We felt any stress we had melt away. Our photographer Jess Jolin is one of the most incredible people I have ever met. Her smile could make the sun come out. She is such a wonder to us. Her photographs bring me to my knees, we are so lucky to have found her. And last, our wedding planner through the Stone Church, Abby. She was the most patient person I have ever encountered and did everything in her power to make us feel comfortable and welcome. From answering all my emails to small touches like free beers on the house the day of our rehearsal dinner, we couldn’t have been more thankful. This trio of ladies are true warriors of the wedding world and are examples of the types of people who should work in this business.
