Nathalia and Gonzalo’s Brazilian wedding has all of the makings of an ideal destination wedding: a tropical garden venue, loved ones who have traveled across the world to celebrate your love, and the effortless romance of enjoying one another’s company in one of the most beautiful places on Earth. After a traditional ceremony in Outeiro da Glória, Nathalia and Gonzalo explored the surrounding Rio de Janeiro with photographer Gustavo Marialva capturing their bliss and tenderness in their first moments as husband and wife. The Hotel Santa Teresa reception was decorated with blue glass, blue and white patterned china, and golden candlelight hanging from the open-air ceiling above.

The Inspiration:
I wanted a chic boho garden wedding with a hint of the tropics. I wanted an intimate environment with not a lot of formalities, for this reason I did a small wedding (for Brazilian standards) and had only 160 guests. Result: tons of fun and the party lasted for 16 hours. In addition, I wanted it to last longer, so it was a destination wedding. I rented a Hotel in Rio where everybody could be in the same place and be able to spend more time together.
The Moments:
I think it was the ceremony itself, walking down the aisle was an explosion of emotions.
