Abbey and Ryan aren’t afraid of a little adventure, so it only made sense for them to celebrate their engagement in the Shenandoah Virginia Mountains. The couple climbed the rocks together, giggling and holding hands all the way. Steven Dray Images brilliantly captured the epic landscape and Abbey and Ryan’s larger-than-life love as they explored the mountains.

Inspired by the notable skyline of Washington DC, Rebecca and Steve planned an elegant wedding at Top of the Town. The bride looked romantic as could be in her embellished gown from White Swan Bridal. The entire day was filled with beautiful moments, but none sweeter than Rebecca and Steve’s emotional first look. Justin Kunimoto Photography captured Steve’s teary-eyed awe as his bride approached, making for one of our first looks of all time.
My absolute favorite moment was the First Look before the ceremony. We had our first look shoot outside our hotel (The Graham Hotel in Georgetown), and choosing to see each other before the ceremony was the best decision we made. It allowed us to have a few minutes to ourselves, let the moment sink in, and get the jitters and tears out of the way! I’ll never forget the look on Steve‘s face when we saw each other for the first time, and it’s my favorite moment of the entire day.
For attire, I was going for a more romantic look; I wanted my dress to be a bit glam and dramatic. My bridesmaids chose their own dresses, shoes and accessories within the color palette of neutrals, blush, and metallics. Steve went for a modern, clean, streamlined look with his and his groomsmen’s attire.
Our theme was inspired by the city we’re from. We’re from the DC area and love our city, so we wanted the city skyline to be the focal point of the evening. We selected a rooftop venue with floor to ceiling windows and a rooftop balcony so that the DC skyline would be in the backdrop of the ceremony and reception. We wanted it to feel like an intimate dinner with family and friends.
