Stunningly Thoughtful Lauxmont Farms Wedding in Pennsylvania

Jordan and Max said “I do” at Lauxmont Farms, on the top of a mountain overlooking the Susquehanna River. The couple personalized their wedding by having a close friend officiate the ceremony. One of the first gifts Max ever gave to Jordan was a pebble, much like a penguin does when it finds its mate for life. During the ceremony, the couple had our own pebble ceremony, where their loved ones held a pebble and blessed it with a prayer or blessing for their marriage. Max’s close childhood friend, photographer Adam Naples, captured all the fun and excitement of Jordan and Max’s special day.

Plan your heart out, but as the wedding approaches don’t be afraid to let go and go with the flow. Everything will fall into place, so sit back and soak in every moment. Just make sure to send a special thanks to the amazing bridesmaids, groomsmen, family members and friends who were there every step of the way.

One of the first gifts Max gave me was a pebble, much like a penguin does when it finds its mate for life. During the ceremony we had our own pebble ceremony, where our loved ones held a pebble and blessed it with a prayer or blessing for our marriage. The pebbles came from my parent’s home in Montana, and the jar of well wishes is in our living room today. It is a constant reminder of how blessed our marriage is.

Our photographer Adam Naples has been a close friend of Max’s since their youth. He has an amazing eye for everything, and made us feel comfortable from the start. We felt so much love and happiness that day, and he captured every moment. He was also able to capture the amazing views of our venue.

Max works for a metal fabrication company, so he designed and created personal hotplates for our guests. We love to cook so it was a special gift from our kitchen to theirs. We still love joining our friends and family for dinner and seeing the trivets in the table settings.

For the centerpieces I found a variety of glass vases from thrift stores and antique vendors. I created the table numbers using glass jars, mod podge and glitter. The lanterns are simple white lanterns with gold glitter held by spray adhesive.

If you’ve been pondering how to celebrate your 10 year anniversary, might we suggest a red dress and a photo shoot in Joshua Tree? Cheryl and Tu happened to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their wedding on Valentine’s Day, which made for some extremely passionate and romantic photos by Katch Studios. With the wind whipping her short hair and wrap dress around, Cheryl looked like a desert goddess, and it’s easy to see why Tu still loves her just as much as the day he married her.

Quintessentially New Orleans Wedding at Pavilion of the Two Sisters

April 14, 2016 | editorial team

Quintessentially-New-Orleans-Wedding-Pavilion-Two-Sisters-9

Truly capturing the “laissez les bon temps rouler” New Orleans spirit, Erin and Patrick got married at Pavilion of the Two Sisters in City Park. Both Erin and Patrick grew up in New Orleans, and they even got engaged in the City Park gardens. Their wedding came complete with an authentic, horn-powered dance band, classic taffy sticks for wedding favors, and a second line to end the night. Photographer Maile Lani captured every sweet moment from Erin and Patrick’s big day, from their first look in the gardens to the couple dancing the night away with all their family and friends.

My friend had a heart charm made that was engraved with my mother’s handwriting recycled from old cards. One side had my name and the other had “Mom.” I pinned it on my bouquet and carried it with me all day. I now wear it as a necklace.

My mother died when I was young so I really wanted to carry her with me on one of the most important days of my life. I originally wanted to wear her dress but it did not age well. Instead, my stepmother sewed my veil from her veil. It was beautiful. I also wore my mom’s pearls that my dad gave her on their wedding day.

There were several memorable parts of the day: reading the letter from my now husband while getting ready, our first look in the gardens, our ring bearer sprinting down the aisle, saying our vows, and the second line ending the reception. The day truly exceeded our expectations.

Growing up in New Orleans, City Park was a large and warm part of our childhoods. My husband knew that I had always wanted to get married there, and he proposed in the gardens. I love the beauty of the park with the gorgeous gardens, oak trees, and happy memories. We lucked out with perfect weather so our guests could enjoy the beauty of the grounds as well.

We really wanted everyone to have as much fun as we knew we would and embody the New Orleans “laissez les bon temps rouler” spirit. A band was one of our top priorities and the Boogie Men did not disappoint. From song one until the second line, everyone stayed on their feet.
